You Wouldn't Want to Be a World War II Pilot! (You Wouldn't Want to…: History of the World) Paperback – August 7, 2009

This is a special book as my Dad was in WWII. I saw this in a 5th grade classroom and loved it, so bought it for my own grandson.

This series of books are well designed. The heavy use of pictures with short descriptions are perfect for keeping a child's interest. Just enough information is given with vividly drawn pictures, allowing one to be pulled in and absorbed by the content.My son is 8 and this series totally captivates him! It's a fun book to look at and read through together as well. Quite informative!

I have been reading these You Wouldn't want to series and I have found them to be very entertaining and informative. Children will enjoy this one about being a WWII fighter pilot. The story starts before the war about a young man who loves airplanes. It tells how he learns to fly, then joins the RAF. He then goes on combat mission. There are many little tidbits of information sprinkled in this story about England during the War, the cockpit, and also the different types of fighter jets. For those students who like airplanes or history of WWII, they will enjoy the well illustrated and informative book.
