Mister Rogers' Songbook (Songs for Kids) (Easy Piano (Hal Leonard))

Not as advanced as I would like, but easily playable to quickly learn his songs or "fill out" on your own.

Easy piano for pianist who is ready for alittle challenge in moving away from 5-finger play. However, there are some chords in the base cleft which do not sound correct. I am in the process of fixing these. This is the reason for 4 stars. Otherwise, a great little book.

This book wasn’t terribly difficult, but did capture all of the jazzy harmonies of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood. The book was sent by the seller VERY promptly - it arrived late, but only because of COVID-related delays with the carrier. It was on it’s way in well under 24 hours. Great shape, as described by the seller.

I thoroughly enjoyed this piano book and play it often. My one comment is that it does not contain the music for "It's You I Like," which is a very popular song - I was able to buy it separately on line but wish it came in the book.

I bought this book for my son and his wife. They are both musicians and they have 3 young sons. Mr Roger's songs all have such great messages to teach young children valuable lessons....and what better way to do that but through music!If you are a brand new piano student, this book is not really for you unless you're using it as part of your curriculum.

Fred Rogers' songs rang in my head while I was raising my children, and I knew they provided excellent parenting advice: "I like to be told when you're going away" "Sometimes people are good ... but the very same people who are good sometimes are the very same people who are bad sometimes," and "When the baby comes to your house . . . you'll always be the oldest one." What surprised me was the musical fabulousness of his arrangements -- not humdrum, but intriguing harmonies, sparely scored, with just enough notes. As a former piano teacher, I can say that these arrangements are suitable for those with one year of piano and more fun to play than most beginner piano scores. Get them for the words, get them for the music -- you'll be glad.

The songs are beautiful, artistic, and meaningful. They are not "plunking" on the piano for kids. They are beautiful meaningful songs for any age and are very achievable for someone who took piano lessons many years ago. His gifts continue.

This book is exactly what you would want from a Mr. Rogers song book! It has darn near every song he did. Certainly the most well known ones! What a tremendous talent he was, and singing these songs with anyone is a great way to honor his memory!
