A masterpiece !
The Book of Solomon often refers to texts that are linked to King Solomon and his legendary wisdom, particularly in the realms of magic, mysticism, and occult knowledge. One of the most well-known books associated with Solomon is the Key of Solomon, an ancient grimoire (book of magic) attributed to King Solomon. It contains rituals, symbols, and invocations related to magic and spiritual practices.

The Essential book on Solomonic Evocation
I actually bought this book along with Runyons companion video "The Magick of Solomon " two years ago. What one finds when beginning to study from this book is that NOTHING is left out, all the essential bits and pieces, theory, prerequisites and actual step by step methods are all included in the most practical and easy to read fashion evr to be seen in print. Now you might be thinking that the preceding paragraph was a lot of praise for the author of this tome?...well, yes it is, and deservedly so.Runyon has re-pieced together a lost art in the most accurate and detailed form ever.If you always wanted to learn how to evoke the 72 spirits of Solomon to visual manifestation, but were never quite able to pull it off, then you must get this book! His corresponding aligning of the 72 angels of the Schemhamephorash to balnce the effect of the 72 solomonic spirits is spot on! and really brings a powerful balnce and control to the operation at hand. Simply Brilliant! If you are an academic approaching the study of Solomons magick from a psychological or Anthropological perspective, then you really need this book. This is without a doubt the most authorative and effective study and guide book on how to really evoke the spirits and make Solomonic evocations work for you.The course of study that Runyon suggests is thorough and necessary to do before you get down to the actual operation itself, it isn't a cake walk in the beginning and if you are just a dabbler...beware!However if you are seriuously thinking about undertaking the study of solomons magick...to effectively evoke the spirits...Everything you NEED is contained in this volume. The methods presented in this volume really work..powerfully!IT's an outstanding work, simply the most complete and authorative textbook ever made available to the public.I would strongly recomend getting the DVD companion "The Magick of Solomon" together with this book, the two really compliment each other completely and you actually get to see the regalia, ornamentation and temple layout visually.

Excellent Resource
I have a massive collection of all kind of books on evocation, including ancient grimoires and the Goetia. I found this book to have a friendly narrative telling of personal experience and accumilated knowledge through practice of this art. I felt the information provided was very useful and contained practical instruction, up to the point of construction of the altar and the wood circle (which would be a monumental task and will need a skilled lumber cutter to be employed).Basic altars can be sized and cut out by anyone at Lowes or Home Depot. Poke's altar is a great concept along with his wood circle and would be well worth the time and money to create.I found the section on the creation of the wax blocks a little hard to follow and felt that he could have provided more illustration and more details. I have other books on the wax pieces for the four quaurters, and they are also a little difficult to conceive.Overall, this is a very useful text that makes reference to other books that would be handy for the study of evocation and magick. He also points out that Enochians are not the lovable beings we may imagine them to be, and gives suggestions to combine eastern and western techniques. I completely agree that some of the angelic presences...just because they wear the badge 'angel' or Enochian, are fierce and do not portray a loving kindness, particularly toward human beings. Angels are entities, and sometimes have even been called 'extraterrestials' by various researchers [such as Brad Steiger]. They have never been human and have not lived on the earth, even though God may assign them a duty to see after certain human/earthly affairs. This is a great book to add to one's collection, and I give it 5 stars for this reason.

Fills in the blanks.
In the simplest of terms, Solomon's Magick fills in the blanks. As practitioner of Golden Dawn methods and as one who has a great respect for Franz Bardon's system, I must say that I've always been just a tad confused. G.D. methods assume too much. The practitioner is left wondering if that's all there is to magick. Bardon's methods are great, but take FOREVER--and the assumptions in his book regarding how long it should take a person to reach certain states are more than a little overly optimistic. Runyon presents a in clear terms what the others are missing--even aside from accessing the spirits of the Goetia. On top of it--it's easy. Don't get me wrong...the work must be done, but once done the work really pays off. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this book outlines one of the most workable methods of magickal development on the market. On top of that, Runyon never suggests that a person can achieve these things with no work or with no study...just the opposite in fact.
