Well worth the money
This is an absolutely stellar product. The picture quality is phenomenal. The onboard speaker system is surprisingly robust. The auto-focus feature works flawlessly. The system is extremely portable and fast to set up. I've used this for client presentations in a conference room, at client meetings I've had outdoors during COVID (even looks decent in daylight), and we've used it for family movie night as well. Performed great in all settings. My biggest word of advice, however, is DON'T CHEAP OUT ON THE SCREEN. You're paying a decent chunk of change for the projector, so make sure you're getting a "4K screen" to match. I've tried this using a low-quality outdoor screen setup and the quality drops off when using outside during the daytime.

Good Functionality, Picture Quality, Sound, & Versatility, but needs software improvements
The projector does everything very well including the sound when turned all the way up. Video Quality 5 of 5 - Amazing brightness needs to be paired with a good quality screen for optimal performance, don't write a bad review of the projector is you're using a bed sheet or wall as a screen! Sound Quality 4 of 5 - Loud when turned all the way up, especially the base or explosions but the dialogue in movies is hard to hear if you don't have the volume all the way up. We find ourselves adjusting the volume throughout a movie to avoid waking the sleeping baby in the house. A soundbar or external speakers can help with this but that's an additional expense. Software 3 of 5 - The projector has the basic settings you would expect on a PC monitor from Viewsonic. They need more adjustments for audio sharing, and the Bluetooth connectivity is not great. If you use a Bluetooth speaker with the projector there will be a delay in the audio when compared to the visual image. wired audio soundbar would fix this. Outdoors 4 of 5 - Great for outdoor spaces, just turn the volume all the way up. The Autofocus kicked in a few times when the wind moved the screen which I couldn't find a way to disable. I hope they come out with an update to the Bluetooth software and apps.

Portable, crisp 4K picture, great audio!
Where to start with this one! I ordered this around the holidays, knowing we would have travel coming up and I have gone back and forth on a 4K Projector. I took a shot on this model, and I am in love. The resolution on this this is outstanding, 4K and I can bring it with me? I can use it in my basement on my screen, or bring it out to the garage to watch football on Sundays with my friends, cant wait to do movie nights this summer. I also noticed I could pair my phone up to the Bluetooth speaker and play my podcasts when I am in the garage messing around. If you are in the market for a high end portable projector, this is the one to go with!

Smart APPs - Disappointed
Purchased on 1st August 2020. 1. 98% of the Apps are Non US based Apps(and those apps says not available in your region), except Amazon prime video and Netflix, 2. YouTube comes with different versions like Main, Pro, Alt and etc. This has an additional problem. If you install Main and Alt, I lose video (picture won't be seen). 2a. When watching YouTube, and if you try to check for other videos by mouse down (you generally see a list (grid) of other videos for you to select) the main video will go blank and gives only audio. 3. It takes 30-45 seconds to open YouTube. 4. You can't cast YouTube , YouTube will crash 5. You can't text in Amazon prime video movie search. The Amazon app will crash. 6. When you mirror your android phone and if you open xfinity stream, the device is not supported. 7. Plex app is just for trailers (whereas a web page gives complete resources) 8. Looks like a very old version of system software. I updated and it says I am up to date 9. Technically, I really couldn't see the benefit of having Smartness in this projector. No App works even good forget about saying great. 12. I dont see some of the apps like Disney+, Xfinity and other most viewed apps. 11. Overall from a Smart TV perspective like running Apps, cast, mirror, installing new apps, definitely disappointed by 100% 12. There is a lag from Xbox games. My 13yr and 18yr old kids connected back to the TV. They were so excited that they will be enjoying on 120" screen. If someone can answer and help resolving or a solution to this, it really helps. Regards, Ramesh

Excellent hardware wedded to very mediocre software with deal-breaking copy-protection issues
I bought this projector for watching movies on a screen in my backyard. The main reason I chose this projector was the built-in sound. For this purpose, it's a good projector with the following caveats: - the built-in speakers are really good, but the size of your audience is limited because you need to be fairly close to them to hear them well (I'd say within 12 feet); unsurprisingly, there is also the usual problem of overpowered sound effects and hard-to-hear dialogue (tough to find a happy medium volume level); outside, the fan noise some mention is not a factor - the picture—once it's totally dark outside—is fantastic; you will not see much without total darkness - the interface is clumsy, but you can use some streaming services (e.g., Netflix, Amazon) and connect smartphones to play things; I have had no success connecting a hard drive and... - if you want to use a 4K player or regular Blu-Ray player make sure it is brand new, with HDCP 2.2; I tried to use two different Sony players with an earlier version of the HDCP copy-protection nonsense and they would NOT transmit sound at all (picture was fine); I used an LG 4K player with HDCP 2.2 and it worked beautifully with sound and picture over HDMI. I tested this issue every which way from Sunday with no change in result. If you're planning to use this with a physical blu-ray player, even one that is only a few years old, you may be out of luck. I went several rounds with Viewsonic tech support on this problem, but the end result was to tell me to contact Sony. I *suspect* that the copy protection scheme is what caused this, but I don't know that for sure (it was the only variable different between the three players I tried, all of which worked just fine when plugged into other screens). Great for the extremely tech savvy or the lucky who happen to plug in a thing that works right away.

Great Smart 4K Projector
Purchased this during the holidays and it’s been great so far. Videos are sharp and smooth when using Netflix. My DirecTV box is not 4K but the screen looks like it is. I’m just projecting it on a bare wall currently and it already looks good. Can’t wait to receive the 120” projector screen I ordered and I bet it will be awesome! The built-in Harman-Kardon audio is very clear and will be enough for most of the shows and movies I watch. Since it is portable, I can bring it to my buddy’s house on SuperBowl Sunday.

Huge, loud fan, light border, not bright enough, and lamp problem, but fantastic audio
My old Acer projector died after 5 years. Got a "like new" version of the Viewsonic X10-4KE. First off, it is huge, nearly twice the size of the old Acer. It's also quite tall -- enough to get in the way if you're sitting close behind it. The first thing I noticed when setting up the projector was that there are no knobs on the bottom to level the image. There is also no zoom, so the size of the image is fixed unless you physically move the projector forward or backward relative to the screen/wall. The next thing I noticed is that the fan is quite loud. Compared to my old projector, this new one was further away from me since it is short-throw, but the fan was still louder. Also, the short-throw feature was not a good fit for my needs -- because the projector is further away, it's more difficult to use with headphones and to plug into the computer. As I continued to set up the projector, I discovered a light border. This is a grey border that surrounds the image on all four sides. I looked into it and it's a fault of the T.I chip, not the manufacturer. Still, it's super distracting. On the flip side, the audio is amazing. I no longer needed to use a separate device for sound. The audio also usually drowned out the fan noise. But not always. In the end, I might have tolerated all the above weaknesses, were it not for two other glaring shortcomings. First, the projector is simply not bright enough, even at night with no ambient lighting. Second, in the few weeks I had the projector, it overheated and shut itself off (after very little use when it was not hot in the room). This was what eventually led to the death of the old Acer projector (after many years), so it was unacceptable in a much newer LED projector, especially a "like new" device that only has a 30-day warranty.
