I recently purchased the Vacmaster VP205, a 2.5-gallon 2 Peak HP Portable Wet/Dry Shop Vacuum, and I must say it has exceeded my expectations in many ways.Firstly, the vacuum's compact size is perfect for my needs. It's easy to move around and store, making it convenient for small clean-up tasks around the house or in the garage. Despite its smaller size, the vacuum packs a punch with its 2 Peak HP motor, providing sufficient power for most cleaning jobs.The wet/dry functionality is a significant advantage of this vacuum. It allows me to handle both wet spills and dry debris with ease, saving me the hassle of switching between different tools for different messes. This versatility has made the vacuum a go-to cleaning tool for various situations.The included accessories, such as the crevice tool and floor nozzle, are practical additions. They enhance the vacuum's flexibility and enable me to reach tight spaces and different surfaces effectively. The onboard storage for accessories is a thoughtful feature, ensuring they are always within reach when needed.The build quality of the Vacmaster VP205 is commendable. The materials feel sturdy and durable, giving me confidence that it will withstand regular use over time.I am deducting one star from my rating due to the noise level of the vacuum. While it performs admirably, it can be a bit loud during operation, which may not be ideal for quiet environments.Overall, the Vacmaster VP205 is a powerful and convenient shop vacuum that has become a valuable tool in my cleaning routine. Its compact size, wet/dry functionality, and useful accessories make it a reliable companion for a variety of cleaning tasks. Despite the noise level, its overall performance earns it a solid four-star rating.

If I had to pick one word to describe this sweeper it would be "Powerful." I can't believe the sucking-blowing airflow capability packed in this little thing. I didn't think the 1.75 HP was gonna be enough and almost bought the Armor-All vacuum because it was 2.0 HP - boy was I wrong. It's almost too powerful! It blows my curtains in a frenzy from across the room at 20ft. and the sucking power is equally intense. It can draw in a gallon of water in seconds, it will not only pick up the dirt on the carpet-it will pick up the carpet if it's not nailed down.Very easy to switch from vacuum to blower,just pull out the hose from one side and plug in the other side and turn on.On-off switch right on top-don't have to look for it.Easy to clean-never needs bags. I'm so happy with this vac I'm gonna buy another one. This is the best sweeper I ever used, even more power than a full-sized vacuum. Very light to carry but seems very rugged-tough. This isn't an average sweeper-it's top-notch and you won't regret buying one.

I use this vacuum to vacuum out the pellet stove on an almost daily basis. So far, this little vac has performed very well. It's light and small enough to be moved around with ease, but the cord is long enough to make it to the outlet. Cleaning it can be a little rough when it comes to fine ashes, but it would be for any vacuum. It hasn't lost suction yet, and it's strong enough to get stuff out of crevices and carpet. Great little ash vaccuum for a good price! I have no idea how it does for wet things.*Update: Dec 2011* Vacuum has now entered its second season of pellet stove cleaning. Works just as good as it did in Feb, even after multiple clean-outs, which included a hand washing of the filter with a tiny bit of dish soap, and running it through a dryer. I probably could have run it through the washer, but wanted to be really careful, only having one of them. Anyone who has a pellet stove knows: fine ash in abundant volume is a vacuum killer. So far, this one just keeps going and going. Very happy with it, especially when I bought it on sale, it was much less than name-brand shop vacs.*Update: 2012* I finally did use this as a wet vac for some funk that was on my carpet. I didn't have a carpet shampooer, so I just scrubbed the carpet by hand, configured this little vac for liquids, and used it to pull the excess water out of the carpet area I was cleaning. while it didn't leave the area super dry, it worked as I needed it to, and the area finished drying over that following day. The tub had tons of dirty water inside of it, so it got a very large percentage of the water I used. I was pretty impressed on how well this worked!

I never did like bringing my husband's big dirty shop vac into the house, so I bought this one just for me to keep in the house. It's perfect! It's lightweight and has great suction. It's easy to clean because it's small. It has two different filters, one for wet and one for dry cleanup. A word of caution from me..... the wet filter tore when I put it on. It still works, but it's really fragile so put it on carefully. The dry filter appears tougher. I'm very happy with it and highly recommend it!

I already have a 1-gallon Shop Vac and an 8-gallon Shop Vac. The small one is very old, and I don't like the design. The hose slides up into a u-shaped opening in the top, and it is difficult to get the hose to stay in place while I snap the top onto the bottom of the vac. Sometimes I think it's in and then it falls out. The 8-gallon vac is great for the garage and the driveway because it has wheels so I can just pull it around, but it's too big and heavy for me to carry around to the back of my house to use on the patio, so I decided to get one in between the two sizes I already have. After reading reviews for Shop Vacs and Vacmasters, this one sounded like a better product at a better price. So far I have only used it once to vacuum up cat litter in a small bathroom where I keep the litter box, and it worked great. I really like the handle that makes it easy to carry around, plus it's easy to remove and replace the top, and the hose just plugs into a hole in the front. I haven't tried out the blower function yet.
