Excellent children's headphones, useable by adults too
These are great headphones for children. My girls complained constantly about using adult-sized headphones both at their piano keyboard and portable DVD player. They would fall off constantly. These headphones fit well and snugly. The slide adjusters on the earpieces that can make the headphones slightly larger or smaller are incredibly sturdy and easy to use. The band is thick, and the earpieces slide in a groove in the center of it. They do not wiggle back and forth leaving kids anything to play with or break. The earpieces are well-padded like more expensive classic stereo headphones and not covered with removable (read: destroyable and lose-able) foam like many headphones. My girls love the panda design, which incidentally in black and white looks quite nice hanging next to a piano (an unexpected surprise). After trying these out on both my 7 and 3 year old, I ordered a second pair to use on our long car vacation with the portable DVD player. It will be nice to be able to read aloud with my husband or listen to music this trip rather than listen to the movie audio because the girls wouldn't wear the headphones. The only thing less than ideal is that they don't fold or break down in any way for this sort of travel, but that's the trade for having them be sturdy and more child-proof to breakage. I'm good with that.As far as sound quality, they are surprisingly good. Actually when I first tested them on my daughter's piano keyboard, I thought they weren't working because the sound was still coming out the keyboard, but it wasn't! It was coming from the earphones, but didn't sound muffled or localized in that way. I wouldn't count on them for hi-fi serious purposes, but they are CHILDREN'S headphones, not meant for serious adult audiophiles (let's face it, they have panda faces on them!)The nicest treat about them is that they fit on adult ears as well at their extended length, both on my head and my 6 foot+ husbands. I wouldn't wear them long term because they are a little snug, but when my daughter wants me to hear what she is playing on the piano, they are perfectly fine to pop on.Highly recommended.

Kids love 'em, but sound quality is pretty bad
Second pair of headphones for kids we have bought, the first being the highly rated Kidz Gearย Kidz Gear Wired Headphones For Kids ย that our now 6 year old uses. When these arrived, of course the older kid liked the looks better (has animal figures and the Kidz Gear are not that cutesy) and even tried to tell me hers were broken! :)I wanted to try a different brand since I always thought the Kidz Gear sounded terrible (very muffled, like you were listening with cotton stuck in your ears)So these arrive, and yes they are cute. They also seem to be a little sturdier (although that has not been a problem to date with the Kidz Gear as they are still working after many intl/overnight flights) and maybe almost TOO inflexible in some parts, as the fit doesn't seem to be as good as the Kidz Gear, which conform a little better to the shape of the head.So back to the sound quality: I am not trying to raise audiophiles, but on the other hand, why submit very low fidelity sound to your kids, especially given that many of the songs they are hearing for the first time? Also knowing that it's certainly possible to produce a headphone that sounds 2x better than these at the same cost. The earbuds that came with several phones and mp3 players as freebies sound MUCH better than both of these phones. So, yes I am being picky, and I do realize that most parents just don't care about sound quality themselves in many cases, much less for the kids, but I am not one of those parents. Would you want to buy glasses for your kids that are hazy and unclear?Anyway, I give three stars PRIMARILY based on sound quality, which is poor, at best. Construction seems OK, price is OK I guess, but I will continue my search. Will update here if I find the Holy Grail of children's headphones. :)

Good fit, good price
My 6-year old uses my old iPod to listen to music or watch movies in the car and in waiting rooms and other such boring places. She used to have a pair of the Sony kid headphones, but they wouldn't stay on her head. They were always slipping down, and especially when she was littler, she could never quite get them on correctly by herself and she couldn't adjust the headband part by herself, which would never stay put. She had a pair of other kid headphones that were designed to hook over her ear, but she similarly just didn not have the ability to get them on correctly on her own, and if we were in the car, and I was driving, I certainly couldn't help. It was frustrating for both of us.I got her these headphones for Christmas, and they've been fantastic. She can put them on herself and they stay on while she's boogying around. They're tight, but soft and comfortable. They lost a star for size. They're perfect for a 6-year old, but I'll be very surprised if they actually fit when she's 9 or 10, and she's a perfectly medium-sized kid. The sizing is great for us right now, but describing them as appropriate for a 10-year-old seems somewhat misleading.I cannot comment on the sound, because I just haven't listened to them. They don't fit my head.

Thumbs up from a 10-year-old!
Ordered this for my niece's birthday - she wouldn't take it off her head all day! I have no idea what the sound quality is like, but I'm not sure whether she cares any how!!!

They fit our 2yo daughters head nicely. I would suggest taping the volume control on the cable to 'max' and then adjusting the level on the device. Cute design, and they seem well built.

Awful build quality, $2 value
Awful build quality, there's some uncut plastic edges inside the speaker grill (which is not even covered by any piece of textile). One more problem - very tight and eneven position on 2 years old baby head, for older baby with bigger head it must be like head in clutch.

too quiet
