excellent feeder overall
The feeder works very well, particularly for finches...they no longer argue, because of the port spacing. Some cardinals can land on the perches just fine. Other prefer not to do so. Doves do not try to land on it. Due to the port design, sparrows cannot sweep their bills back and forth and spray seed everywhere. We have only had it a couple of weeks, but are very pleased.

Great Feeder
Great feeder, easy to fill and easy to clean. I really like the Aspect's brand, and have one of their hummingbird feeders as well. The Cardinal perches are pure marketing, the perfect size for a Sparrow, but larger birds cannot feed inward, and have to contort to get at the seeds. A better idea would be to extend the perch outward to have a second place to stand, a little farther away, to accommodate both large and small birds. Bought the large seed tray, the birds love it, but it made a nice place for the squirrels to sit and raid the feeder. The dome is a great at keeping the food and the tray dry, but doesn't stop the squirrels when they jump on top of it. I ended up using the smaller tray, it fits fine, and that greatly reduced the number of squirrel jumps to the feeder. I rated this as 4-stars based on the price. It is a great product, but to be a great value, it needs to be cheaper. When you add in the dome and the tray, very expensive for the materials used and elementary engineering. I liked that it was made in the USA, and after saying all that, I would definitely buy it again. Be sure to check the condition of the feeder, as the first two I was sent were poorly packed, and the tube was cracked. I originally ordered this spruce version, but was sent the brass one by mistake. It was undamaged, so I accepted it, looks good. Note that the brass caps are painted metal, not brass.

EASY TO CLEAN!!!
I've had years with the older models which were a pain to take apart and clean. I LOVE this one, and the fact that cleaning out the bottom where all the junk and moisture turn it into a hard patty of crud is so easy. Takes a minute, if that, and you're done! I can't recommend it enough, and you won't regret it. No screw driver and screws necessary! The only thing we have to worry about are the bears coming along and biting it, but they even stand up to that, in the end---that is, if you can find where the bears have dragged them off to! We have used these feeders complete with bear teeth holes for years. Buy one today and keep those birds happy!

Great feeder!
I love this feeder - and, more importantly, the birds do! My favorite part may be the U-shaped perches, which accommodate larger birds but are more comfortable and stable for even the small ones. The perches/openings are not only a sturdy metal, but also are anchored to the corresponding part on the opposite side of the tube - should be impervious to squirrel and raccoon efforts to remove (the feeder I had before was destroyed within a couple of months). I like the clear tube so I can see how much seed is in there. Easy to fill, easy to take apart when needed. Recommend the corresponding dome cover (Aspects 351 super tube top) to protect it from rain (also helpful, but not totally foolproof, for keepng squirrels off). Honestly, in a crazy year like 2020, watching the birds enjoy this feeder brings simple joy and balm for the spirit.

Very Nice
Sturdy enough, holds enough, and really like the removable bottom for cleaning. Would buy again.

Nice feeder, but does not deter those pesky larger birds.
First off, this is a well made feeder. My disappointment stems from the fact that is does not deter the Starlings, Blackbirds, Cowbirds, etc.I bought this to replace our Perky-Pet 325S feeder. I really liked that feeder, but the larger birds would swoop in and empty it in less than a day (we feed a no-waste mix. ), scaring away the smaller birds in the process. After an inordinate amount of research I chose the Aspects 421 based on reviewers, and the company, stating that the larger birds (Blackbirds, Starlings, Cowbirds) could not perch and eat from it.I bought the feeder along with a dome, set it up, and watched. It took the smarter Finches about 15 seconds to find and figure out the new feeder. The Sparrows followed close behind. Unfortunately, it took the smarter Blackbirds about two minutes to figure out how to perch and eat from the feeder. At first they had trouble balancing and would eventually fly away, but they quickly found a way to balance and pig out. The Cardinals have not yet been to the new feeder.Another odd thing about this feeder versus the Perky-Pet 325S is the amount of feed that hits the ground. I figured less feed would end up on the ground, but in fact a lot more ends up down there.Since I like the design of the feeder, I may try switching the type of feed to see if that helps.Buy this feeder because it is well made, but not if you're hoping to rid yourself of the larger birds.

... spent way too much time trying to find the perfect tube feeder
I spent way too much time trying to find the perfect tube feeder. I'm very happy with this one. I also bought the Aspects 351 top to go with it. This is very solid and seems well-made. It's really easy to open up and fill. And unlike the feeder I was replacing, you can lift it up by the body to reach a hook without it coming open. I have not taken it apart to clean it yet, but the bottom pieces seem to snap in and out easily. The one complaint I have about all tube feeders is that I think the openings are too big. Some birds just stick their beaks in and swish back and forth looking for the perfect seek, scattering seed all over. I'm still waiting for someone to make a feeder that has small ports so that the birds are forced to pick out a small amount of seed. But all tube feeders are like this, so I'm not going to penalize this one.

The Birds Really Like it!
I have a smaller one that holds half the seed, and the birds were fine with it. And then I added this one and the smaller birds can sit upright as they feed and the Cardinals, who had already learned to perch on the smaller feeder, use it comfortably as well. When the Mourning Doves are rocking on my platform feeder like a hammock with snacks, the cardinals can still get to the seed in this feeder! This is the first feeder they all go to.It's new, but the plastic is solid and looks to be quite durable.

Large black birds love and squeeze out smaller birds
Smaller birds, even finches, were eating about first 1-2 days, it was fun only 1-2 days... but then larger birds (black birds, grackles, cowbirds and even crows) squeezed out and scared smaller birds completely, so smaller birds even do not show up anymore. Then I put only nyjer seed, but large birds were even eating nyjer seeds and sweeping lots of them on ground (nyjer seed is tiny, so it was not supposed to be favorite for large birds). This birds feeder has large perches to accommodate large birds. These large birds are very messy - they sweep away lots of seeds, lots of seeds underneath on the ground, waste of seeds and no enjoyment seeing pest birds all day long fighting on perches and producing terrible sounds. Unfortunately, had to return.

Great bird feeder
I've got two of these. They are the only bird feeders I've found that are sturdy and durable. The metal perches don't break or get chewed up by squirrels. They hold a decent amount of feed, and they're well designed. For example, the V shape at the bottom allows the birds to get all of the feed out, so there's no accumulation of old seed that rots. I use them for peanuts in one feeder and sunflower seed in the other. I even got the optional dome to keep them dry and the optional seed tray so that less seed ends up on the ground for the squirrels. This is a great feeder.
