I am not sure why other reviewers were having trouble: the white band around the middle needs to be securely pushed up onto the silicone cup BEFORE filling the cup. If you push it up tight enough, it stays. The cup works without it (doesn't get hot on outside) but it lends structural stability to the cup, especially when picking it up. To pop out the bottom, push it out from the INSIDE and don't try to "pull" the bottom out. As for the lid: I have not any leaking problems, but I can imagine that some of the lids might not have a tight enough fit. Mine is fine. I like the portability of this cup, especially for traveling.

As a flight attendant, i collapse this cup into my flight bag on my overnight in hotels that do not provide a throw away coffee cup. It works well for my hot tea also.

Hard to use with my finger pain. Opening v lid and expanding is difficult. Wouldnth recommends for elderly.

One of my favorite things I’ve purchased. It folds up small enough to fit in my bookbag. It takes some getting used to, but I love it and recommend it to everyone

This cup replaces a diposable styrofoam cup. I got it to carry with me for many reasons. It allows me to use a water fountain (smaller than a bottle to catch water). I can carry it easily in my bag. When I want to take my beverage with me after a restaurant meal, I can use this instead of asking for a go-cup.NEGATIVES: -The top does not screw on. You push it on, just like the lid of a styro cup. It is secure for upright use. I would not count on it to hold if you tip it.-Requires a good hand wash to remove the plastic smell. And does pick up the smell of what is in it. I had herb tea in mine yesterday and after rinsing, it held the smell. A wash took the smell away.-Feels a bit flimsy in the middlePOSITIVES:-Practical, easy to wash and dry.
