The NRA Step-by-Step Guide to Gun Safety: How to Care For, Use, and Store Your Firearms

This book is a must for a new firearm owner or anyone considering purchasing a firearm.
Gun Safety is and should be the first thing on a firearm owners list. This book is a thorough review of firearm safety. I recommend everyone read this book from cover to cover no matter if you own a firearm, considering purchasing a firearm or have no knowledge about firearms. Even if you are not sure about firearms. I also recommend that everyone take a firearm safety course from a Certified NRA Instructor to get some hands-on instructions on firearm safety. Use this book as a reference but read it all the way through first. It not only handles firearm safety, but explains different types of firearms, ammunition, cleaning and storing, with very clear photographs all thorough the book. This book should be in everyone’s library.

Good book, good information
Good book, good information, but missing the basic nomenclature like diagrams of firearms and their specific names and locations,IE; grip, safety, hammer, trigger, muzzle, front sight, rear sight, ect... you get the point. This makes me wonder if this book would be better as an introductory text, rather than a entry level.

A good basic “what you need to know”
I Purchased this book as a gift for adult friend who is buying his first long arm. It is an excellent and well illustrated introductory book on firearms, their handling and safety. Very little NRA polemic, which I find good

Proper etiquette. Safety in procedure.
Even for non gun owners, book certainly entails the proper etiquette. Can be useful when considering those who want to purchase guns, or those who already possess guns.

Great Book!
Lots of chatter and conflicting info on firearm safety, with self-appointed blowhards sure to kill themselves or others because they refuse to limit themselves with rules, but the NRA leads the field with their practical and understandable content.
