Super Robot Chogokin GREAT MAZINGER Jumbo Machineder color

I've been a super robot fan since the 70's. When the Soul of Chogokin line launched in 1997, I was right there. I picked up (and still own) all the early releases. When the Super Robot Chogokin line launched, my collecting had slowed way down. So I barely noticed. My general impression was that with soaring SOC prices, this was a scaled down, scaled back version they could offer close to the original SOC price point. I wasn't tempted until I saw pics of this Jumbo Machinder-inspired color scheme. WOW. The paint alone would have been worth the price of admission. But, despite it's size, this is a beefy little figure. It has serious weight from all the diecast. And best of all, the engineering is both solid and wondrous. I had absolutely no heart-stopping moments dealing with any frozen joints. The whole figure simply flows from one pose to the next. Nothing needs to be forced, and it all feels rock-solid. The elbows and knees are particularly impressive the way they hide unsightly gaps while still allowing a huge range of motion. They would be impressive on a figure twice this size. If I had one complaint, it would be the lack of a second Brain Condor (or at least a stronger connection point)--I feel it's only a matter of time before I lose the microscopic thing. I can see investing in an accessory pack down the road for weapon effects, but the included array of extra hands, screw punch forearms, scramble dash, and single red sword are plenty to play with for now. They even included a single blue right hand in case you own the related Mazinger figure and want to recreate the iconic handshake scene. LOL. Honestly, as long as you are aware of how tiny these figures are (compared to most SOC), everything else about them impresses. Easily recommended.

This figure came in excellent condition. Box was mint, contents came mint. This figure is really enjoyable. You can pose it in many ways, it has additional hands that give expressions to the figure. I recommend it 100%.
