Works good.
So ive been using this thermostat for about a week now. I did have some concerns initially about the temperature probe, as its in with a very cantankerous nile monitor that loves to destroy everything. Luckily, as of this review, she has not noticed the probe. Double checked temperature accuracy with a temperature gun. Both read the same at the basking spot. The timer function is great, and I believe has 4 or 5 timers you can set up. I'm using 3 for a ventilation fan. Cord length is more than enough for use, and nice and thick to accommodate the rise in amperage with using what is effectively an outlet strip for your timer/heat/always on options. The instructions talked about easy preset functions for new users. I was able to easily customize the features to suit my needs. Works great for me, and especially for the price. I'm happy.

Killed Everything (all the plants, hopefully not the whole hobby) :'(
With his own money, my 13year old son purchased a THC16 temperature controller from Amazon on June 15 to use with a chest freezer to keep some sensitive exotic (carnivorous) plants at very specific conditions. The controller worked great for a month, doing everything he needed – until it didn’t. My son was sent to camp for a week and my wife and I took a 3 day vacation. When we came back, we went to water the plants for him and found that the controller was registering high temp (120°). The plant lights were on, creating heat, but the controller was no longer cycling the freezer. I can only assume the plants were cooked in there at 120+ for 3 days. Needless to say, they are all completely fried. This is probably nearly $1k worth of plants that he has accumulated all by himself though buying and selling, and birthday and Christmas presents since he was 9 years old. He comes back from camp today and I am sick to my stomach knowing that I am going to have to tell him that all of his prized plants (that he normally checks several times per day, belongs to a local club for, has his own youtube channel for, and is currently even designing his own website for) have all been effectively cooked because of this faulty controller. I have since tested it and confirmed it is definitely no longer working. I would not recommend relying on this item for anything that you want to keep alive. Product is 0 stars. I have also written to the company in hopes that there may be any sort of guarantee or coverage for the items (plants) it killed. I have not heard back yet but I will also be rating the manufacturer based on their response. I will also update the resolution here. For now, I am at a loss of what to do next. This is going to completely devastate him and we have to break the news to him when we pick him up from camp today.Edit: I contacted the manufacturer (Repti-Zoo) and they said they don't provide after sales support for items that aren't bought directly from their website. So 0/10 ranking for them. I contacted Amazon and they offered a return. So although we lost $1k in plants, at least we got to return the $50 item that caused it. Kudos to AZ for doing that, at least.

I wish you could set the timer to be triggered by temp as well but overall works great
We have these set up for both our Crested Geckos and our Ball Python. Its great to keep them at the proper level without nearly the concern on them getting too hot or cold. I wish it had a humidity gauge too. The only thing to be aware of is that if your timer plug is used for a light and that light emits heat, you still need to eyeball the temp and maybe adjust what you have the highest setting set to. We adjusted the max temp for our Cresties down 2 degrees because their light produces some heat.

Does what it's supposed to!
It's accurate, but it also beeps, a weak little alarm if the temp gets higher by 5° or so past what you have set. I disabled this. Not a con, I understand why it exists but there is no option to disable it.if you press a button while the alarm is going on, it stops but immediately starts again. All in all it does it's job well aside from that annoyance.

Great product for the price.
Works exactly like advertised. Wish they thermostat would have the choice of proportional and dimming instead of just on/off. I know this would raise the cost and I would pay it. For this one though, the price is good and versatility is amazing for the cost. Will update later with reliability and accuracy over time.

Not reliable!
When it works, it’s fantastic. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been reliable. I have two of these thermostat/timer combos, and both have failed me. Thankfully, the room where I keep my reptiles stays warm enough on its own, so no harm was done.

Works, but LCD is broken
This is a good enough thermostat controller for the money. It kicks on and off when it is supposed to for both daytime and nighttime settings, and even gives an extra always on plug for whatever you need it for.I have two complaints:1. the wiring doesn't feel to be the highest of quality. I wouldn't worry about it for a 30 watt radiant heat panel, but anything more I would consider something a bit more heavy duty.2. The current temp readout on mine came out of the box busted. If I hit the control panel against my hand a few times, I can sometimes get it to work, but not always. This isn't a deal breaker for me, because I always use an external thermometer for a second opinion and monitoring, but it is annoying.I would probably buy another one if I need an advanced thermostat on a budget. You really can't get this feature set from anywhere else at this price. I will eventually upgrade to something beefier and with a higher build quality, but this is a nice step up from a basic thermostat for the time being.
