First time upgrading pedals = immediate improvement! UPDATE #2: three years later..
UPDATE #2: It is 2025 now. I have progressed to 25 foot jumps, 6' drops, and ride hard at downhill bike parks. I eventually upgraded to genuine OneUp pedals because I don't want to die from a knockoff breaking (see one of the reviews from the 300lb rider who did jumps and drops and it broke.) After about two years, the Rockbros bearing in the right side starting to wear out and feel rougher, but again, I rode it hard and probably got it wet without cleaning and regreasing it. CONCLUSION: Like the OneUp's, they have a large platform that feel comfortable and pins that grip well. If your wheels never leave the ground, I continue to endorse these as great pedals at a great price! // UPDATE #1: One year later and it has held up well. I have since upgraded to flat pedal shoes to go with these pedals and it's a game-changer. I have progressed from being a beginner to riding aggressive trails and jumps (8-16ft tables and gaps), and just rode a downhill bike park. I ride almost every week and covered 800+ miles of trails. The OneUp's are definitely designed better, have higher quality components, and better quality control, but these are impressive for the price. Now that I know I am a serious MTB'er I will invest in a name brand next, but these have served their purpose well. I have a second pair on an old backup, cross country bike. I believe they will be fine for light riding. CONCLUSION: great, low cost pedal to try out. know the risks of buying an off brand at this price point. check the quality carefully, install it properly, and hope for the best but don't expect it to perform like pedals that are 2-5x the cost. aggressive/advanced riders should not take the risk, otherwise, go for it! // Experience: Two months of MTB trails on hardtail and full suspension. Other products used: none, just factory pedals. Initial impression: feels solidly built. immediate and noticeable improvement in pedal feel riding around block. feet feel much more comfortable (size 10 US). haven't ridden trails yet. Concerns: pins feels sharp and will inevitably gouge legs someday (file them down?). wider platform may hit obstacles easier. both of these are necessary trade-offs I suppose. Final verdict: at a very affordable price, this is a great upgrade for beginners. would consider upgrading all our non-trail bikes with these if I can smooth out the sharp pins.

Solid grippy pedals you can't go wrong with
I finally got out on these pedals after another year of my bike just sitting and looking forlornly at me. I had to switch from clipless because my ankles just wouldn't rotate enough anymore to safely get out of pedals, so I gave these a shot. Combined with some stiff soled dedicated bike shoes, these pedals are great. They grip so well I forgot at times I wasn't using clipless pedals. They are super wide so they fit very well under my shoes and make for fantastic energy transfer. Coming from clipless pedals and shows with a very solid sole, I won't lie, they look comically large, but honestly, it's worth it for the safety of being able to easily dismount. If you need flat pedals and you want something better than standard pedals with solid grip, especially with a dedicated bike shoe, I can't recommend these more for the price.

Awesome pedals, comfortable, grippy, easy to service, light and economical
Have owned these pedals for over a year now with 700+ miles of riding. These pedals are great and giving them a 5 star for the following reasons: Sealed bearings means you don't have to service them and water and dirt does not penetrate. Second, the pedals are wide and long enough for my 10.5 size foot to plant comfortably on them. The size of the pedals make them great for max power and stability. However, if you have a smaller foot size I recommend a smaller pedal as these make it challenging to go through narrow paths. Thirdly, they are durable and have a stainless steel axle. This makes it easy to clean the old grease and service them. I recommend a you tube video on how to do it. I did not struggle at all and they are easy to service and install. Fourthly, they are light and I love the nylon material. They are a bit banged up but that's due to my riding. I love the color and foot support. Because the are sealed bearings they rotate freely. I have no negatives other than the label has faded due to use. I wish the label was engraved instead.

Great pedals at a great price, but check the assembly before using
Excellent pedals! Grip is awesome, bearings are smooth, and they feel solid. These are especially great if you have bigger feet. I wear a size 13 and pedals like the Chesters just don’t quite have enough space for me. The only reason I have to ding them a star is for quality control. When I received them the nut that holds the platform on the spindle was not properly tightened. That can be pretty dangerous since it can eventually cause the pedal to come off of the spindle. I was able to tighten it myself and it hasn’t come loose at all, so doesn’t seem that anything is stripped. Just poor assembly. Perhaps it was just a fluke, but check if the pedal has any play on the spindle before using. Just hold the end that attaches to the crank and pull the pedal from the other end. There shouldn’t be any movement if it’s tightened properly.

Amazing pedals that are as good as those costing 6x more...
I have had two sets of these pedals. I have ridden them hard and long. They have been abused with many strikes. I have not serviced them and they last amazing. They preform well and I really like the bigger size but still light weight. They are as good or better than most pedals that cost 6 x more!!!

Great for bigger feet and solid platform for pedaling on climbs or fast sections.
I was afraid these pedals would be too big to get used to but after I actually received them I liked the design so I installed them and went for a 14 mile trail ride. I brought my old pedals just in case. But I loved them from the first time I put my feet on them (size 50 Giro flat MTB shoes). The pedals give a great platform for my big feet and I never felt they were too big. They are just right and the pins give great traction. It just took a little getting used to but after a mile or so I was able to land in a good spot on each pedal and "wiggle" my shoes to just the right spot thanks to the concave nature of the pedals. If you are not in the exact right spot on the pedal you can still pedal effectively if you get caught on a climb. I like the composite material much better than aluminum because it makes pedal bites less painful. Highly recommend!!

Me encantaron, se ven muy bien, se agarran mejor y son súper cómodos con un buen tamaño de plataforma.

I've read reviews complaining about the size of the spikes. I wanted to clarify that their size is regulated by a regular key, as it should be. If you have a lot of dirt, use 100% if it's a regular road, use 10% as I did.
