Perfect computer speaker solution.
Shockingly Good Fix for Dead Computer Speakers — Highly Recommended! When my computer speakers died, I didn’t want to waste money on cheap replacements—especially since I’m saving up for high-end Yamaha monitor speakers. I already own four UE Booms that I usually use for patio music, so I decided to repurpose two of them as temporary desktop speakers. Bluetooth was a bust. While they worked fine for music, syncing them with my computer for video was a nightmare. The “Double Up” function was clunky and unreliable, and audio lag made it useless for anything beyond casual listening. I needed a wired solution. I tried a standard 3.5mm splitter, but it only gave me mono sound—both speakers played the same channel, which ruined the stereo experience. Then I found this gem of a stereo splitter. As soon as I plugged it into my headphone jack and connected both speakers, I got true stereo output. I tested it using a YouTube stereo test video, and it worked flawlessly. Of course, you won’t get deep bass from UE Booms in a desktop setup, but the sound quality was surprisingly good—definitely better than the budget speakers I tried out at Best Buy. Best part? I already had the speakers. This splitter turned what I thought would be a frustrating compromise into a genuinely enjoyable setup. If you have a similar configuration and want a temporary but effective solution, I highly recommend this splitter

Use decent quality speaker cables
Good product. I had major static and humming noises on first use. I thought it was a bad unit. It turned out to be the two R and L cables running to my speakers, not the breakout Y. If you have noises try switching cables to decent ones.

It works fine with two connected
I use this to connect two lapel mics to my video camera (stereo mic input). Strangely, if I only connect one lapel mic, it doesn't work. I must have both mics plugged into it, or the camera won't receive sound at all. It works fine with two connected, and seems sturdy.

Inexpensive answer to pluging in 2 mikes
I use a cam recorder to record Church Services. We have a system of mikes that miss some of the service. I added a small mike but could not record on both mike systems. With this I can connect and record on both mike systems as left and right mono tracks recorded on one stereo track. When processing the video I remove the sound track and break it to left and right mono tracks. A track for each mike system. I then load the 2 mono tracks on my video in place of the one stereo track and edit my video to get the sound I want form each of the 2 tracks. Just have to mute the track you don't want to play for a section of the video. The video of a service is then processed and used to upload to our web site and make dvd's for our shut ins who don't have internet. Highly recommend this inexpensive cord - well made and does the job.

Great Adapter For Interviews
This adapter splits a Tip-Ring-Sleeve stereo microphone (or speaker) jack into two mono Tip-Sleeve jacks, one for the left channel and one for the right. This is great for recording interviews: clip one lapel mic on one person, another on the second, and record both at the same time. You can also use this adapter to split a headphone jack into separate left and right channels to use with speakers. You may have to amplify the signal or perform impedance matching for this application, however. This adapter has a high build quality. The plug, cables, and jacks appear are heavy-duty and able to withstand moderate abuse. Although one should be careful and avoid putting stress on any type of wire or cable, this adapter seems strong enough for years of use. Five stars because the adapter works well and is a good value.

Great for splitting audio from a phone to separate speakers for real stereo
I have multiple brands of Bluetooth speakers, and some that use Apple Airplay. But, none of them will reliably play in stereo consistently, hour-after-hour. So, I've resorted to actual cables. This little dongle very nicely breaks out the two channels so that one cable can go the the right speaker and one to the left speaker. But what's really great is that two females on this have nothing applied to the "ring" (where the right channel would normally be found). Some other splitters have ground applied to the ring, or simply have a sleeve that is long enough to cause a ground signal in the area where the ring would be, thereby reducing (or completely thwarting) the audio from the speaker. Those other splitters are a problem because all of the speakers have stereo 3.5 mm inputs and use both the left (tip) and right (ring) channels. Using the splitter and then 3.5mm tip, ring and sleeve extension cords works perfectly.

Simple, worked
Male stereo to a mono left and right females. It worked! It was cheap too, so durability remains an unknown

Cable très utile
Transforme sortie stéréo en deux entrées mono droite et gauche. Parfait pour brancher deux enceintes portables en aux avec vrai son stéréo. Et surtout pas de latence comme avec le bluetooth donc parfait pour du gaming.

Splits a stereo source into two mono sources and vice versa
Useful for a DSLR which only has one microphone input when you want to use two microphones at the same time, puts one microphone on the left track and one on the right, lead seems well made, no crackle when moving, also short enough to not get tangled up in! This is suitable for audio inputs on cameras etc but not suitable for mobile devices such as phones or tablets
