Better Homes and Gardens Bookshelf Square Storage Cabinet 4-Cube Organizer (Espresso, 4)

I purchased the 2x2 cube (square) in espresso.So, although you can still order these things in espresso, they don't send you espresso, nor do they inform you that they are not sending you espresso. Apparently "espresso" has been discontinued and replaced by "tobacco oak," which is really lovely. I would be happy to order all my shelves in tobacco oak, quite frankly, but it's just weird that they can still sell you espresso and just send something else.This was incredibly easy to put together, as well, with clear directions, all parts included, no damage, and pre-drilled holes all in the right places.And that is where the good review ends, and the bad review begins.Holy cow, is this stuff cheap! I have a similar 4x2 cubby that is ten times more sturdy than this is. When I unpacked this, and picked up the thick, fat, top/bottom/side pieces, they literally felt so light that I thought they were hollow. When I knock on them, they even sound hollow. My aforementioned 4x2 does not sound that way when I knock on it. I turned this one on its side (all these cubby shelves are supposed to be able to go either way - tall or long), and put a little weight on it, I could hear it crackling. It doesn't crackle with the same weight on it in the other direction, but this definitely begs the question for me as to whether one that isn't a square, such as the 4x2 cubby, can be used long instead of tall, which is what I had intended for them if I were going to buy them.So, to summarize, the pros: very appealing color, very easy to assemble.Cons: you won't get espresso if that is what you want, and the shelf is made of incredibly cheap materials.So it really depends on what you want these for. Shoes, pens, notebooks, books . . . that stuff is all fine.But if you were thinking of maybe putting an aquarium on it, or a TV, you probably shouldn't buy these.

I needed something to store my vinyl records in. This has really worked well for my needs. It was easy to assemble and seems to be sturdy enough for records. No complaints!

I knew ordering this that it was an engineered material so I'm not degrading it for that. What I will say is the design of this product makes the best of that material and actually makes it look sturdier than other thinner versions. Color is great and super easy to put together.This was purchased to place my record player on and use the cubes for standing up records. Works great. I also customized mine by ordering some nickel finish legs to give it a little different look. Working great.I recommend this product as long as you understand the quality of material you are ordering.

Having but together many of different varieties of cube storage cabinets over the years from Target, IKEA, Rubbermaid, etc. I must say that this is the sturdiest and best looking of the lot.I but it together in less than 10 minutes and the wood grain looks much better than alternatives. Note that their "espresso" color is not as dark as IKEA's (more of a very dark walnut) but it still looks great.The lag bolts that connect the top and bottom panels are very beefy and rather than the wooden pegs that most of these come with, this one has nylon pegs. The advantage is that the unlike the wooden pegs that almost inevitably end up breaking the MDF if you are not careful, the nylon pegs are thinner and bend a tiny bit to prevent that from happening (very thoughtful).For $50 for the 4-unit I cannot complain...paid the same at Target for a unit that is not nearly as nice.

I love my 4 cube organizer. It was very easy for me to assemble it. I purchased the same item prior to my purchase of this one from another supplier. The first one I purchased I struggle up stairs with the box myself as a woman. I didn't want to go through that struggle again. It was much to heavy. Yes I love it so much. I ordered another 4 cube and the eight cube. Now I'm a older woman I put the 4 cube together in about 35 to 40 minutes and the 8 cube about 1hour and 30 minutes. If you're not skilled in putting things together or figuring instructions out you will definitely need another pair of hands. I love putting things together. I purchase the Espresso beautiful color and I had no problem assembling the 3 pieces. I was pleased with the finish outcome of my units. Well worth the time and money.

I ordered the product in espresso and received it in black. Additionally there are several areas that appear to have been smudged during the painting process or areas that are missing paint all together. The shelves are sturdy and will serve their purpose but if you’re looking for high quality or something out on display then this one comes with a lot of eyesores. Photos taken straight out of box just after assembly. I didn’t ask for a return or exchange because as stated it’ll serve its purpose but definitely not happy with what I received.

Better homes and garden has excellent pieces. Bought entertainment unit which is very sturdy. Son bought serveral of the cubes so he would not let me buy any other brand and he put it together in minutes. Best choice ever as cube is very sturdy, finish is beautiful. Wanted one with legs but supply and color was limited.You will not be disappointed with these cubes.

Excellence, very solid furniture, I have bought multiple types of flimsy particle board furniture over a lifetime, this really turned my whole opinion around, This is the most robust of them all; for what you spend and what you receive, its worth every penny . It exceeded my expectations' simple to build, thick blocky ( 2 inch width outer structure ) construction. In addition It really looks terrific in my apartment. Fantastic, well done.
