It's good for holding water
I did not hook up the drain but it does come with a connector for one. I bought this to contain occasional waster spill from the washing machine when it's full.

Great, if you don't need to worry about the drain.
First of all, this is extremely robust plastic. I had to move the machine in place alone, and I was concerned I might crack the plastic but it held together. Really, not much else to say other than I saved me the trouble to hunt down and fix a slight leak with my machine. Others complain about the drain valve placement not going out the side horizontally, and this would definitely be a big problem if I needed it. The sides are not square and there is a lot of curve to them, so it would be very difficult to put the drain plug in the side. I suppose with enough epoxy or something you would be able to do this, but if you need a horizontal drain, then perhaps look elsewhere. My leak is so small I can run my machine indefinitely without any worry of overflow.

Great quality I had my whole washer sitting on the backside while I was placing it by myself it didn't bend or scratch. The plastic is very durable and thick and the color itself is a brighter white than pictured. I bought this cause my tub is off balance and is leaking and I needed something while I save money to get a new washer. I have been using it all day its saving my floors right now. I 100% percent recommend this item its totally worth the price in materials and it came right away.

I really thought it would be a quick process?
We bought two of these for the front load washer and dryer - no the dryer doesn't need one, but we needed to protect the floor from the feet digging in to the newly laid soft pine while in the same spot for long periods of time. And for consistency, we bought matching. It was a nightmare to get these to work! Getting the w/d in them was a feat in itself. Two of my sons trying to tip the machines so we could get them in, in a small laundry room, without completely wrecking the new floors. Then we discovered that no matter how high we raised the feet, the drawers wouldn't open. I cut out 2x4's to put under the feet to raise the machines up and then we had to tip them again, and make sure the boards were in just the right spot. Even with the boards, and the feet fully raised, the drawers barely clear the lip. Once done, we tried moving them back to their original placement and everything inside moved, but not the pans. So all three of us had to take a position to move the machines into the right spot, along with the pans. (Two boys pushing the machine, one mom pushing the pan and boards inside.) The whole process of trying to figure out how to fix the problem, and installation took about 2 hours when it should have taken minutes. Now that it's in place, it looks fine. I mean, they're not attractive, but they'll keep my new floors dry and keep the feet from digging in. Gosh I can't wait to move again and do this all over! (sarc) Would I recommend these? If your machine is prone to leaking, yes, maybe. I probably would go back myself and just get the pads you put under the feet instead for my purposes since my machine has never leaked after 15 yeas and about 5 moves (so it should now since I said that). Just be ready for needing a lot of patience, some minor cursing and several people in you laundry room. (Unless of course you don't have drawers under your machine or the feet raise really high. In which case - rock your bad selves!) In the end, they serve they're purpose - to keep the floor dry and the feet from digging in, but the process to get it there is a comical one.

Washing machine leaks are contained
Our washing machine sometimes gives us the “Sd” error, which means we placed too much detergent (even though we didn’t). When it does, our machine leaks from the bottom and water goes all over the flooring. Bought this and the leaks have been contained ever since. No more water damage and leaks on the flooring.

Perfect!
We replace the vinyl flooring in our kitchen/laundry room with wood and I was worried about my front loading washer spilling on the new floor. This drain pan was the perfect size and has already been tested because an oversized load in the washer caused too much suds and a spill. The drain pan kept my new floors dry!
