ST2000NC000, Seagate Enterprise Value HDD, 2TB
This review is for the 2TB ST2000NC000 Seagate Enterprise Value HDD.I purchased this HDD to be used in an external enclosure for backups. The external enclosure selected was the Rosewill RX-358 U3C BLK USB3.0, which also has a heat exhaust fan to cool the hard drive. The specifications for this 24x7 Enterprise Cloud storage hard drive are good and the drive runs quiet and cool with good performance. The following CrystalDiskMark was run with the ST2000NC000 within the indicated external enclosure connected to an onboard USB3 controller:Sequential Read : 191.789 MB/sSequential Write : 180.436 MB/sRandom Read 512KB : 58.159 MB/sRandom Write 512KB : 90.439 MB/sRandom Read 4KB (QD=1) : 0.668 MB/s [ 163.1 IOPS]Random Write 4KB (QD=1) : 1.464 MB/s [ 357.5 IOPS]Random Read 4KB (QD=32) : 0.666 MB/s [ 162.6 IOPS]Random Write 4KB (QD=32) : 1.366 MB/s [ 333.6 IOPS]Test : 500 MB [E: 23.3% (433.9/1863.0 GB)] (x1)Date : 2014/10/11 12:01:35OS : Windows 7 Professional SP1 [6.1 Build 7601] (x64)USB3 Seagate 2TBThis synthetic benchmark is within the ST2000NC000 specifications. Additionally, I ran a real world backup of 300GB of virtual machine virtual disk drives (VMDK and VHD) to the ST2000NC000 over USB3. This backup required about 45 minutes to complete, which is acceptable. As with any HDD the real test is the test of time; how long will it operate. At this point I consider this a good purchase and the ST2000NC000 is operating correctly.Notes:1. The HDD I received was packaged and double boxed acceptably. The drive was suspended and supported on both ends so that it was held in place (A few air pillows for the flight would have been nice.).2. Amazon guaranteed the delivery to occur in 24 hours and the delivery was done exactly on time. (I do not like my HDD devices to be on the road for a long period of time.)3. The ST2000NC000 is an Advanced Format drive with 4KB sectors and 512e emulation. I have had no problem using this HDD in the indicated configuration.I hope this helps.

Drive failed in just over 1 year. Purchased in 2019. Apparently the warranty expired in 2016!
I had ordered this drive in July 2019, installed it in December 2019, and it failed by February 2021.The reseller has declined replacing or refunding the drive.Seagate support, after 3 hours of discussion, declined to support the product. They said the Warranty expired in 2016 (3 YEARS BEFORE I BOUGHT IT?!) and that this reseller is not officially authorized by Seagate, so they will not assist with an RMAWe operate servers with dozens of drives, mostly seagate. Because seagate warranties are not being honored, we will not use seagate going forward and we will avoid this reseller whenever possible

Great value for the price and works well with AMD Store MI
My old Seagate Barracuda was giving out and I needed another drive to store my massive files (PC games and videos). I decided to buy this due it being cheap for 3TB of storage. I paired it with a 16 GB Intel Optane M.2 drive using AMD Store MI and was able to achieve 833.4 MB/s read and 145.6 MB/s write. As far as the drive goes, I have had no problems with it.

Flawless drive!
I purchased this 2TB enterprise drive for my 64 bit Win7 daily use machine. It also is used for keeping tv shows and movies for my networked htpc to tap into when needed. I paid the extra cost compared to other 2TB drives because I wanted it to last. With 2TB of data and programs, failures can be a major pain! It takes me at least a week to reinstall all of my many apps. So far this drive is flawless after 11 months of constant use.

I am hoping for enterprise level durability.
This is an enterprise level device, and comes in a plain brown box. I put it into a Drobo unit and it has functioned perfectly ever since. . You never know with a hard disk how long it will last before something goes terribly wrong, so I would recommend putting this in some kind of raid array.
