The right tool
This is one of those tools an old uncle would tell you is rock solid and so useful. I had a major job to do using plastics requiring 140 drill holes. I started off using a few "general" drill bits and the going was horrible. It took about 40 seconds to drill the hole. Found this drill bit on Amazon and it hauls a$$. As it stands, it's the best tool in my toolbox. Bargain.

Ordered the 3/16, 5/32, and 1/4 they arrived earlier than expected.
These are the best for drilling plastics and pvc I’ve ever used. I purchased these on the recommendation of the French Drain Man, I follow his videos on U Tube.

Bit worked great for my led sign project, super sharp and clean drill hole
Worked great on the plexi glass led sign i built. Would buy again. Kinda expensive but i needed it and couldn't find the bits locally.

Nice clean holes in clear acrylic.
No chipping or cracking. These are excellent.

A better option
A much better option for drilling through plexiglass than a standard drill bit.

Perfect
I used this to drill through 1/8" thick acrylic. It cut through easily and I had no problems at all. The cut was clean with no burrs on the edge and no melting. I did use a piece of plywood as a backing. Highly recommend.

Significantly less cracks/splits/breaks with this bit
I needed to drill mounting holes in three decently large acryllic sheets for a backsplash. I had initially purchased a generic drill bit rated for plastic from a big box hardware store. After practicing a few holes on some scraps with it, I realized that bit wasn’t going to work as it was leaving small cracks around the drilled hole, particularly on the exit side. So I ordered this bit. I was able to drill 16 perfect holes, 12 of which were 3/4” from both edges of the corners of all three sheets without any obvious cracks or splits. I did break the corner off another sheet unfortunately but I can’t say it wasn’t already damaged from the cutting process. Definitely worth getting a real acryllic bit given the cost of the acryllic sheets.
