good book
Although I am fine using this book for the semester, it did some fairly damaged. I took photos to document to protect myself for being blamed for the damage once it is returned. So far the book itself is great.

great for class!
It is the same as the hard copy, just what my class called for. Personally, a little dry for "light reading," but has some interesting information. Over all, glad to have read it, Quadagno did a good job making a text book that could be used for sociology of aging or the introduction to psychological of aging.

This book offered many insights to the world of aging, retiring for the frail, and healthy older person. I was beneficial having a go to book for those entering the middle age group, and preparing for their aging parents and what to be prepared for.

Rip-off
This is a very expensive book. I expect that from required college textbooks, but I also expect accuracy and carefull editing. This textbook is lacking in both areas. This book contains both factual errors (e.g., page 70 "By 2010 approximately 10 percent of the population in the U.S. was over 85 (U.S. Bureau of the Census, 2011)" - the actual percentage of those over 85 is about 1.5%) and sloppy editing (e.g. page 81 caption for Figure 4-6 is 1995 while the data is for 1955). These are NOT the only errors in this book. So how accurate is the rest of the information? I would send it back for a refund - but I must have it for a class.
