‘I had it first. It’s mine’ – a delightful lesson on sharing
New Jersey author Anna Kang and illustrator Christopher Weyant are a husband and wife team responsible for the very popular and award winning series YOU ARE NOT SMALL, of which THAT’S NOT MINE is book 2. Christopher’s illustrations are frequently visible in The New Yorker and he has produced cartoons syndicated throughout the world. Two animals argue over possession envy – a big chair is the ‘personal territory’ of the larger critter, and attempts to share it are met with attitude. Out of frustration, the requesting small critter wheels in a swivel chair, claiming possession, and when the large critter attempts to invade, he is swiveled off the page! Both animals then concede that sharing is the best option…and they apologize and find a stronger friendship.Well written and illustrated, this little book will be a delight for youngsters who will grasp the quietly intended lesson about sharing. This is a delightful series by a fine team. Recommended. Grady Harp, June 22

Darling artwork, excellent message
My 4 year old grandson loves this ebook. We read it together over Zoom. He requests it often out of the 20 or so he has to pick from. We change up the books often but this one has stayed in the mix for over a year.

Children Love This Book.
A three year old and a five year old love this book. They can definitely relate to not wanting to share. And the five year old doesn’t need a lot of reminding that she once refused to share any of her toys with her little brother. But they are absolutely adorable when they say that the friends should share.I really love this book. And they love it, too.

Good
This is adorable especially when me and my 7 year old play out the dialogue for my 3 year old. Not sure a 3 year old would understand why it’s so comical but my 7 year old does. Wasn’t happy that the cover came dirty but wasn’t about to deal with exchanging it.

he loved it immediately
When I read this to my 3 1/2 year old grandson a few weeks ago, he loved it immediately. I think he said, "I want to hear that again!" 11 times and of course I obliged.I supplement the story by explaining some of what is going on....asking Gabe what the facial expressions were telling him...what the little tornado over the heads of the characters mean. We talked about what each picture was telling us about what was going on. I also alter my voice for each character and raise the volume accordingly! I hadn't read it to him in several weeks. When I arrived to babysit for him last evening he was wired. I saw the book and picked it up. He came right over and sat quietly next to me as I read it and once more I heard, "Again!"

A FUNNY BOOK!!!
It’s quite a good book, but I like “You Are Not Small” even better. It is a funny book, it teaches a lesson not to fight, and is great for kids 6 and under. I would recommend it, but I believe that the “You Are Not Small” book is a better buy.

A win for my 3 & 5 year old!
Because of the purchase price we first checked these books out at the library. The kids were instantly fascinated. My kiddos love the illustration in these stories and I read them with funny voices. We have the whole collection so far and I’ll continue to purchase them. They’re simple and a little short but my kids laugh so hard. Big hit for us.

Reinforce MINE mindset
I purchased this book under the impression the book was teaching children the lesson of sharing. Instead, the book is about two animals fighting over the same chair, using MINE repeatedly, and then deciding to go play. It ended with another animal hopping in the chair and saying MINE.I wish it fleshed out the two animals deciding that it was more fun to share the chair to read a book together, or something similar. Also, ending the book with mine just reinforces everything I was trying NOT to reinforce with my almost three year old.Cute illustrations but not the lesson we were hoping for in this house.

Not recommended
Two fuzzy creatures both want to sit in the same comfy chair. The trouble is, they can’t agree who it belongs to. They get madder and madder, until…(Spoiler Allert)They end up yelling it’s mine at each other and eventually fight over it. Somehow in the end this makes the want to make up, say sorry and go play. Not a realistic representation of conflict resolution.

Very funny!
Estou iniciando na fala da língua inglesa e me recomendaram estes livros por serem de fácil entendimento. Pensa, num velhinho rindo como criança.

I love this little book
I love this little book, but it won't download to my Kindle on my PC. I can see it on Kindle Cloud, so that's fine, but it makes me wonder why.
