What's that? That's the sound of my furniture sighing relief as their arch nemesis, Igor, impatiently and maniacally shreds his new found scratching post to little bits. This thing works so well that my kitten was climbing the darn thing before I could unwrap it. The felt on top is long gone, as you can see from the picture, but my cat clearly loves this thing with all of his derpy heart. My furniture and I salute you, as do the future buyers of said furniture.

Love it but I need a replacement tower please and thank you
I love this, plushy bottom, nicely wrapped, easy to put together...BUT see the pics to see what has become of this nice scratching post. Now I'll give ya, Frank is a 9 lb cat, 9 yrs old, he adores it but it's fraying & breaking & there's no "contact customer service".The info says warranty 1 year. May I have another post top please. This one is making a heck of a mess. I am sure this is a rare thing, I love this but, please help me out. Bought 1-19-2017, today is 5-11-2017. Not long yes? Thanks so much.

Great Scratching Post!
Wowza!I have a cat that goes through scratching posts every 2 months, and I'd rather pay for these than new furniture! Because I buy these things so often, I was looking for something economical, but useful - that is, I didn't want a post covered in carpet or only a foot tall. We don't do carpeted posts because we don't want to make it ok for cats to scratch on carpet - I mean, our house has wall to wall carpeting and a cat can't tell the difference between carpeted stairs and her post! Our cat knows that if it's "rope-y" - that is, covered in sisal rope - it's ok to scratch. Anything else and she gets a talking to.Local pet stores charge an arm and a leg for any sort of scratching post, and my local superstores didn't have anything in stock. I just received the post today and I was pleasantly surprised to find it is much larger than I anticipated. It's taller and wider at the base than most other posts. This is a positive thing, because it provides stability when your little furperson gets all fired up and decides to tip the post over with the ferocity of her scratching. The post is at least 18" square at the base and about 2.5 feet tall, which is great for long cats. It's pretty well constructed too. Takes about 30 seconds to set up and they even provide you with a little allen wrench to tighten the single screw. The base is one piece and not folded (other posts fold their bases to save room, and it's a pain in the butt to put together). I'm amazed at how nice it looks. The carpeting is more plush than carpet, which is also a positive point. I have to say that this is a great deal. My cat loves it, it's better than most of the other scratching posts I've purchased over the years, and it's at a really good price point. You won't be disappointed, and neither will your cat!

Broke immediately
Same issue as quite a few others here as you can see in the photos. Snapped at the base within 24 hours of owning it. It's not designed properly; the post itself is far too tall and study to be attached by a thin piece of cardboard to the base.

Cheaply made
Updating my review: I like the idea that it's taller but I had it for 3 months (for one cat) when it already started leaning. I tightened the bolt at the bottom and even added a washer to distribute the force when I first got it. Then while moving it to see how much it was leaning, the post came off the base! What was underneath was a cheap plastic cup STAPLED to the post with very cheap, small staples. No wonder! I drilled 4 screws through the bottom of the tube and into the plastic cup and it's as good as new...or more accurately, as good as it's gonna get.Anyway, the construction here is pathetic. Cheap, thin-gauge staples. I hope these guys don't build houses. It's nothing but a cardboard tube, twine, staples, a MDF base and cheap fabric. If you add all that up and decide that's worth what they charge for this, then buy it. But I'm thinking Trixie sounds an awful lot like "tricked me".

Great customer service
I ordered this mostly because of price - I needed another scratching post to put next to a too-tempting piece of furniture. When I put it together, the top was a little wobbly and I thought perhaps it needed another washer. I wrote to Trixie customer service to ask what they suggested. They asked for a copy of my receipt, which I sent, and a few days later I received a replacement scratching post - the whole thing. Amazing. My note to them wasn't even a complaint - just asking for a fix - so this must be a case of exceptional customer service. They really stand behind the product. The replacement is fine, btw, and my cat has decided that she likes it much better than the furniture. Win!

Threw Into the Trash!
I should have heeded the reviews that had issues with this post. At first I thought it was well made, but only ONE screw attaches the base to the post, and the base is particle board, not good.My cat knew better than I, he HATED it. I attempted to get him to like it smearing cat nip on it and holding his front paws on it and show how to scratch it, he taught me, no way!My guy is a 16 lb. Tabby, and long... he actually did attempt to scratch if once or twice but it fell over, almost landing on him. So I don't have any photo to attached as I thew it out in the trash yesterday and it's gone.Bought a much larger and better Scratching Post on Chewy. He uses this everyday now... he knew better than I.

Shrinkflated Cat Scratching Post
I've ordered this post before from the same listing and the post was 9cm diameter, the Q&A on the listing said it was 9cm, what I have received is only 7cm ,the base is also thinner and less heavy that the last one and the sisal rope is thinner. Its clearly been value optimised to make more money, this makes me cross. See the photo, both bought from same Amazon listing less than 18 months apart.

Flimsy and Broken
Terrible! I bought this ready for my cats in my new home. Opened it on arrival a few weeks ago and it has completely broken. Can’t return it as I bought it in advance. Don’t waste good money on this product it’s flimsey and doesn’t last.

BEWARE.... this product is not durable ...
BEWARE....this product is not durable. The scratching post has broken clean off the base. This has exposed the interior of the post which is basically a cardboard tube (covered with the rope scratching surface). Protruding from the now broken off tube are very sharp "staples".See picture attached.

Rascador perfecto

The cat says he likes it!
Bought to replace an identical unit which had been slowly destroyed over time by our scratch loving moggy. Buying this was more cost effective than buying a replacement post (figure that one out). Swapped the old worn out unit for this shiny new one and the cat gave it a good going over as soon as he saw it. These are quite tall which is good for our cat as he's quite large and loves to stretch out right to the top.
