Mayfair 46EC 034 Molded Wood Toilet Seat with Lift-Off Hinges, Round, Sky Blue

I put up with a black padded seat from Wally World for years while waiting for them to stock another as replacement. Never happened and I then began on-line shopping with Amazon and soon found this one to add to an order. So glad I did.I am also glad I ordered it in the spur of the moment, as an add-on to an order that had already been placed. Because it was only then that I read the reviews while waiting for delivery. Otherwise I may have refrained from doing so and missed out on what so far has worked out to be a good product, seemedly without flaw.Weighing in at just six pounds shy of a whopping three hundred, I was a bit concerned at first about some few reported structural failures. So I began a bit timidly. But those pre-dawn flop-downs prior to coffee soon precluded other than the most rigorous of stress test imaginable.Over time it has now proved itself up to the task. But beyond that it is also a thing of beauty and a wonder to behold compared to that cracked plastic coated foam product of "crap-ware" from China's main distributor here stateside known as "Wally-World." Plus, it STAYS clean with an occasional spritz and quick wipe down. Then the removal feature is readily at hand for those occasional intense detailing from top to bottom every bathroom needs.Now for the one problem I had anticipated as a realistic hazard of switching from a padded to non-padded seat in an unheated bathroom, with a morning mean winter temperature of about 55 degrees or less. That of a frosty place to park the posterior portion in the A M. I was pleasantly pleased!Though admittedly cool, not near so much as one may think, shifting swiftly to unnoticeable. Now it could be that I am actually one of the original Dead-End Kids, but I was seriously pleased to find the amount of comfort to be had in a non-padded seat. Well worth the tradeoff in attractiveness of this lil beauty, sez I! So listen not to the nay-Sayers and have one of these.. I may get another just to hang on the wall and look at while sitting so pleased with my purchase!!__LOL!

Our family home has three bathrooms. Two have Kohler "Harvest Gold" colored fixtures. One bathroom on our lower was finished after the house, and has white fixtures. The first toilet seat I bought was the this seat in "Harvest Gold". I found it to be a perfect color match to our Kohler "Harvest Gold" fixtures. My family liked the first of these seats so much, that we replaced the white seat with this purchase. Now, my wife wants the third one replaced, so I will be buying another Mayfair "Harvest Gold" seat from Amazon. These seats seem to be the best toilet seats I have ever seen. They are molded wood, and the two I have purchased are beautifully finished. The finish on the seats also has an anti-microbial agent in the finish to repel bacteria. I noticed that a less expensive model of this seat does not have the anti-microbial finish, and all I can say is that the two I have with the anti-microbial finish are easy to clean, and they stay clean. I would recommend this seat with the anti-microbial finish because we like it so much. The seat installs in minutes with one screwdriver. The seat removes for cleaning the toilet rim by the snap caps at the hinge that require no tools for removal and replacement. Even though it is removable, the seat is solid, comfortable, good looking, and clean. Amazon price and shipping were great as usual. I recommend this item highly.

This is a nice, solid wooden seat. My toilet is blue, which is an unusual color these days. The color of this seat (Sky Blue) was a perfect match.Installation is very easy and straightforward. You can tighten the nuts with your fingers alone, but I'd suggest a wrench or pair of pliers to really lock them down. Once I did so, the seat was SOLID; it doesn't wiggle at all.The item description says that the hinges allow easy removal of the lid for cleaning purposes. That would be nice, but the hinges on my lid do NOT allow removal. This was not too terrible for me, as I had never seen a toilet with a removable lid before.

I love the design of this toilet seat. The bolts that hold the seat are plastic and easy to screw on to the toilet - you can use your hands, but if you need extra power to give it that last tightening, there are grid marks for a phillips screwdriver, so you can use a screwdriver to tighten. Then, the toilet seat has snap-on clasps that you can unlock and lock to put the toilet seat on or take it off. It takes only five seconds - put them in the unlock position, snap the toilet lid onto the bolts, and snap them into the locked position (just move them slightly left or right - they move in a circular fashion). I found the toilet seat to be very secure - no shifting. And, here's a bonus. For extra cleaning, the seat is so easy to remove - just move those clasps in the back, pick up the seat (unsnaps easily), clean and then snap seat back on, and reset clasps. I'll never buy a toilet seat with a different design again!Also, this company is one of the few that makes a seafoam that matches the 50s/60s light green with a little gray and touch of blue (you can see the color in photo). This color is hard to match - just wanted those of you with this vintage bathroom know this company's toilet seat is a good match - the best I've found!

This seat installed in a breeze and feels sturdy enough. The finish is nice and thick - time will tell how it holds up. Hinges and movement are smooth. Love the easy removal and cleaning. I like the durable plasic bolts and hinges - no chance of rusting. Just a really nice, well made seat. Very good value.And as far as the reviewers that say the bolts are hard to align or stuck up so that the lid would open only half way....well I had none of these issues and as an engineer I can only say that these people are either reviewing a different seat, their toilet was not a standard toilet, or they simply did not know what they were doing. The installation took me all of 30 seconds and required no adjustments whatsoever.
