Does not charge via canon charger, but does via usb. Cheaper than canon battery, visually different so you don’t mistake them. Can’t speak to long term charge cycle durability, but has decent life at first at least despite having charger circuitry and port taking up space. No difference in terms of clearance or tolerance. Would recommend.

I was immediately taken with this little wonder-- It can charge with a USB cable. For $10, I was not worried too much about the purchase. As long as it didn't harm my camera, I would not be upset if the charging feature was a bad gimmick. It turns out it charges as advertised. That is a nice feature to have so you don't need to carry your charger on vacation. I have barely used it, so I cant speak to its longevity. I will try and update the review in a few years.

I recently used these batteries in my Canon camera and was outside with it in mid 30 degree temperatures for several hours. The batteries held up and stayed charged, kept the camera operating for multiple portrait sessions. i'll be ordering more for my other cameras in the future.

I love the fact that i can charge this battery 2 ways not just by one. if your on the road, or at an event as long as you have a usb port or even a portable charger you can charge your battery. very versatile battery, might order 2 more in the near future to add to my collection.

Doesn't hold charge long!!!

I really liked the fact that I could take 1 battery for my camera while backpacking and charge it from my battery pack that charges my phone/etc. There are 2 issues with this battery: 1) the capacity I measured (three different times) is around 1450 mAh, with a 500mA load, at 65 degrees; 2) the USB charging circuit seems inefficient (40% more amps in than out, typical is 10-20%?).The product does not fit my intended application due to charging inefficiency.But, it’s better than the fake Canon battery I’ve used for years (1000 mAh capacity now), but not quite as good as my 10 year old original Canon battery (1600 mAh now).Update on efficiency: Using power out divided by power in for a full charge resulted in a value of 72%. (Comparing amps is not correct as the charge voltage is 5.1 and nominal discharge voltage 7.4.)

Price makes these batteries attractive; BUT in comparison to the Canon battery, you would think these batteries would last longer. The Canon LP-E6N is rated for 1865mAh while these batteries are rated for 2600mAh. You would think the SmilePowo battery would last longer - not so. Moreover, the battery seems to lose its charge quickly just sitting around waiting to be used; this does not take long for this to happen. In one week, I had to recharge the battery to keep its peak charge needed for a long shoot. In a week there should not be any noticeable discharge. With this in mind, I think I can tolerate these issues considering the costs differences between the Canon and SmilePowo batteries. I think that is what SmilePowo is thinking too.
