Falling apart after 25 days
Overall liked these shoes. A little looser than expected, but comfortable and a good fit for a size 9. Seemed a little bigger than 9, but not worth complaining.BUT...The sole is separating from the shoe after 25 days with little wear. Bought these for a trip out west as my every day shoes. No hiking more than 4 miles on grass or roads...nothing major. The only rigorous activity was softball for 3 innings as a casual game with kids, 3 times during the week. (These were fun games with kids, not a lot of running). Does not seem serious now, but I don't expect these to last and I am thinking the sole will eventual pull away from the shoe...probably on a longer hike at worst possible moment...so they will be handed down to my son.So...1 STAR for these. But since they were below $100 and were comfortable, I'll give 2 stars. But since another pair of Merrells fell short, -1 for the company. I wanted to return to Amazon, but because they were worn I was concerned about a restocking fee. I could make them look brand new...but didn't want to shell out more money. I used to be a Merrell fan, and thought my hiking shoe that lasted 3 years with trips to Alaska and Ireland were Merrells, but just realized they were Columbia's.I am 0-2 from Merrell over the last year. Something tells me their build quality has decreased. I don't expect a refund or new pair of shoes because I wouldn't trust the new pair. These will get use cutting the lawn or as yard work shoes.I would not recommend these shoes, and recommend you read the reviews of any Merrell you consider. This shoe had good reviews, but a few had the same issues. I am thinking most people will eventually have these fall apart well beyond the time they would remember to post a review.

Felt smaller and firmer than Moab Edge
I have the Moab Edge and really like them, so ordered this Edge 2 thinking they would be very similar. The 10.5 felt a little shorter - felt my toes bumping the end. Also, the shoe didn't feel like it cushioned as much. Sole just felt stiffer, so with my back issues, I noticed significantly more aches and pains in lower back at the end of the day. A day after standing in Disney lines I donated this pair and went back to my older model of the Edge.

Shoe is Ok
Ok. I bought the 10W version. My foot is a 10.5EEE and while there was plenty of room in the toe box. Visually, my foot looks like it extends beyond the width of the sole. They are very comfortable. I guess I will see how they break in and if this becomes an issue. Also, I originally ordered 10.5W and it fit like an 11. The 10 was perfect. One of the main reasons for the purchase was to have a bit more protection between my foot and rocks and roots that define NC hiking. The nylon arch shank seems to offer a bit more protection. It feel like about two times better than my ASICS Men's Gel-Venture 7 trail sneakers which I can feel just about every little pebble and root with which my foot comes into contact. So, the shank protection is ok but not fantastic. Finally, these are not waterproof. I don't know what I was thinking when I purchased them. They are obviously mesh. The sole is no higher than a regular trail runner so unlike some of my hiking shoes that have a thicker sole that wraps up the upper a bit they cannot handle 1-1/2" to 2" inches of water with getting your socks wet.Background. I hike about 4 miles a day 5 or 6 days a week. Some trails have a lot of up others are relatively flat. While I am sort of satisfied with them, I would not buy another pair. My hunt for the perfect hiking shoe/sneaker continues.

Best sneaker I've ever owned.
Best sneaker I've ever worn. I'm a larger man, 6'5" and 330 lbs. Someone told me I should try hiking shoes, because they're designed to take a pounding and are very comfortable. So, I found these on Amazon and bought them. This purchase has led me into swapping out all of my shoes for Merrell shoes. Very comfortable and supportive. Going to buy another pair soon for my family's trip to Disney.

Really solid shoe for working and hiking
I needed a comfortable low-cut shoe for yard work and walking/light hiking, and I had had good experience with a Moab hiking boot, but I ordered that boot a half-size larger than my usual 9 M, and the 9.5 M fit perfectly, so I contacted Merrill and asked if I should do the same with this Moab 2 low-cut. They said yes, so I ordered it for a really good price on Amazon, and it fits very well. I might have been able to get away with ordering a 9 M in this shoe, but the 9.5 M fits well with plenty of room in the toe box but no sloppiness in the support. An added bonus is that these are fairly light, though a lot heavier than running shoes, very sturdy and stable, and, so far, waterproof. I have done some morning outdoor work in heavy dew without any wetness getting inside. These shoes are also fairly breathable. All in all, an excellent buy.

On my third pair. Great daily wearers.
The old pair in the photo has more than 18 months of daily wear on them. They've held up very well. The rear strap is broken and the laces tips have heat-shrink tubing on them due to my dog chewing on them, not the quality of the shoe. The interior worn part happens on all my shoes and is the reason I bought a new pair. I can still use the old pair for yard work. Good shoes in my experience. These are much more durable than the running shoes I used to wear for daily work.

Very comfortable
I've worn nothing but New Balance MX608V4B for the past four years. They were the most comfortable shoes I had ever worn and they were durable. I've been hearing about Merrells as I plan an AT thru-hike, so I thought I would give these sneakers a try before spending the big bucks for hiking shoes. I am sold. These Merrell sneakers are super comfortable and have an awesome sole.

Very disappointing
This is the second pair of these shoes I have purchased. The first pair did about average for me and lasted around 6 months before needing replaced. This last pair didn't make it two weeks. On the right shoe the sole started separating from the upper part of the shoe starting from the inside edge and wrapping around the front and on to the other side. All I do in these shoes is work at Home Depot. I don't hike, I don't do anything at all in them except work at Home Depot and walk on concrete and climb ladders.

Might suit you if you have feet like Cinderella
Bought a pair sized 11.5 and they looked and felt much smaller in all directions. If you have feet like Cinderella they might fit you. The uppers don't look durable and look a bit girly but if you are only wearing them to the ball and you need be home before midnight that won't matter.

NOT WATERPROOF
So the shoes themselves are great; comfortable, study and keep my feet warm... well unless they get wet... then my socks get wet and my feet get cold (not good for long walks). I didn't find this out until I wore them and now I can't return them. Thinking they were waterproof as the Amazon search I entered was "waterproof walking shoes". So when these came up, I didn't think to read the whole description I expected the results to show 'waterproof' shoes. This is the reason for the 2 stars, the shoes are fine, but they should not appear in a search for 'waterproof walking shoes'. Very disappointed in Amazon for allowing this. Search terms need to be improved!

Merrell always comfortable from first wearing - wish they were a little more waterproof.
Merrell are my goto brand for walking shoes - they're always comfortable from first wearing - these shoes were no exception.I was expecting a higher level of waterproofness - these Moabs are not for use in wet weather.

Not Waterproof
At first i thought they were waterproof but they are not. I ordered theseboots on 12/1/21 and started wearing them at start of Feb. As you can see the still have plenty of wear on the sole but the inside of the heal is trashed. Now uncomfortable to wear. the other boot is worn but not as bad.

Love Merrels.
My last pair of Merrels sandals lasted 19 years. Worn while abroad only on Holiday to walk everywhere. So sad. Until now. Solid build quality. Almost feels like they're propelling me forward when I walk. I'll check back when they break. Hopefully not for NOW!!!
