I needed somewhere to keep my knives. This is it! It holds all but one, and that's fine. I do have a LOT of knives. Both sides can hold knives. It just slides together, and the magnet is strong enough to even hold knives that are in blade guards. Easy to clean and looks great on the countertop.

Both sides can hold knives, sturdy, magnet is strong / it holds knives well, uses a small footprint, looks nice & it's easy to clean.

The media could not be loaded.  This is the best way to store your knives if you like to cook. The bamboo is beautiful and magically. Magnetic! It holds many knives and keeps them at your finger when you’re ready to prep food. It’s much better than my old knife block.

I was immediately intrigued by the combined design of knife holder & ipad/book stand - I hadn't seen one like it before. I ordered the larger one, as I plan to use it for many cookbooks as much as an iPad.Pros: Magnet is strong, works well! Feels quality, well made. Easy to assemble. Holds an iPad perfectly.Cons: the the whole thing with a full row of knives can look a little "messy" or cluttered or bulky.. on the counter. I love my counter to look minimalistic and tidy, or "magazine ready" as my friend says... But all in all it's worth it if you use your knives daily and reference books or iPad often. (As would be expected, extra large, or extra heavy cookbooks will struggle to work with this. No surprise there though.) Minor note: it is on the heavier side - but that's fine with me if it means quality materials as opposed to flimsy plastic.Tip: since it does not have any design feature on the bottom ridge to hold the book open, I use a metal food clip on each side to fasten/secure the pages to the bookcover... my clips have a magnet on the back, which makes them perfect to store on the back magnet when not using.

The media could not be loaded.  Nice magnetic knife block shelf- easy to assemble-easy to clean- used a rubber mallet to put the side pegs in, they haven’t budged-they are handy for my scissors and can opener to hang onto- I use both the front side-& the back side they are both magnetic- I also leave a small cutting board on the shelf , with plenty of room to spare, I hardly recommend this product very strong magnet, well worth the $-perfect for my needs!

This looked beautiful when assembled and holds about 7 of my knives with strong magnetic grip. But after a few months , one of the two pieces of wood started to warp. Because that piece is the part under the knives and facing forward, it was very obvious. One end curves down. This little “shelf” doesn’t hold weight and nothing is placed on it so it is not normal warping from use. Definitely impacts look of the item.

After seeing many pricey knife blocks, I was curious about the quality I could expect for this low price. I have two bamboo cutting boards, so I know that when bamboo is made right, it is very durable & long lasting. After running my fingers along this block, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is made with such precision that it felt like one solid piece of wood. And all edges are smooth.When I unwrapped the package, I initially thought some assembly parts such as screws or fasteners were missing. But nothing was missing; the block is so cleverly designed, it holds itself together.It is heavy enough & the magnets are strong enough to allow you to remove knives without holding on to the block as long as you twist/pry the knifes off, rather than sliding them off.With four large knives attached (7" Cleaver, 6.5" Nakiri, 8" Chef's, 7" Santoku, & two pairing knives, I tried shaking the block to test the magnets. None of the knives moved. Smaller knives such as paring knives have less metal for the magnet to attract, but they didn't move, either.The two pegs on either side of the block are cleverly designed - they tilt upward so whatever you hang on them is less likely to slip off.

Isn't it nice when you gets something you are expecting and its BETTER than you hoped !.. I never post pics with reviews, but this product is AMAZING quality. Heavy thick sturdy NOT junk at all.. worth its price and the extra time i waited for it. Bought for my 60th birthday to myself... and glad i did.. slips together with ease, no screws needed.. and will last me till im def gone and hand down to my grandkids. QUALITY these days is hard to find.. takes very little room !.. A full recipe books fit , and takes so little space on the counter, opening up more room i need. If you guys want to send me more bamboo products for free id be thrilled to review those.. XOXO

It’s started cracking and we’ve only had it a month.

It’s ok, this is not super heavy so occasionally the stand will wobble if I don’t remove the knife in a specific way.The magnets do not go all the way to the edge so there is wasted space.Both back and front are magnetic.All in all it’s ok.I do not use the little side pegs that came with. They feel cheap and will likely snap.
