When I read everybody’s descriptions and reviews about this wish I was worried about the locking feature but I had no problem figuring out how it works it’s actually quite simple to remember naturally after you do it once or twice. The only complaint I have is that when I lock it the coil takes another couple inches of lead to actually lock and lets the dog pull out probably 3 to 6 more inches of line slack until the coil tightens completely on the inside. I didn’t realize this was a problem right away but when I was walking down the hall past a group of people and thought I had him locked at a close distance walking at heel position, he was actually able to pull towards them a few good inches until the coil tightened down all the way on the inside of the leash to lock so just keep that in mind. other than that I’m happy with my purchase and it is sturdy and I have been using it every day

It works great and it's heavy duty!

This is one of the good ones. The lanyard retracts quickly and smoothly and doesn't tangle. As far as being chew proof, well, nothing is really chew proof is it? But this one is likely at least as good as anything else and probably a bit better.

Although I taught my puppy NOT to bite her leash, she still does occasionally. I stop her!But in time, the leash breaks off!Not very durable!

Wanted it so our dog could go a little farther, but it is a little bit to big for my hand

My dog is a 60 pound pit. Awesome for letting her run around and stretch her legs in the city without having to find a fenced in space.

I just received this product and it is made VERY well. Impressed, stay tuned for how well it performs.

Its i little heavy

The media could not be loaded.  So I bought this cos the pink leash looked nice, and I wanted my dog to have a long retractable leash so she could run around freely in open spaces. Like almost everyone else writing the review, barely 2 months in and it's garbage now.The lock is not easy for sure. For most leash, you press the lock forwards, but this is opposite. It does take a bit of getting used to, which I eventually did, although I never quite was a fan. Anyway, cut to the chase, it's now jammed and won't budge. This is very dangerous, especially if you're walking your dog on a busy road andthe leash jams or worse, breaks.It would've been a nice product, but alas, it has failed its purpose, and I have to buy another leash now.

Would be nice if the lock actually worked properly, as it doesn't unlock without much cursing, while the tape looks paper thin.But it is very light in my opinion and pleasant to hold free, when you need to get the dog away from a person that doesn't like dogs as much as I do, well, good luck as it takes some doing. If only the locking button wouldn't stick, I would keep it, but after one walk with much aggravation, it goes back.

I was so excited to order this leash!As soon as it arrived, I took my dog for a walk.......This leash is front heavy compared to other retractable leashes I have used in the past. About 1K into the walk the wrist strain was very prevalent. It didn't help that the hand opening is really small. It made for an uncomfortable grip. In the winter, you aren't wearing warm gloves and getting your hand in, likewise a larger male may have issues with this form. The retractability of the leash is sluggish, it drags on the ground if your recalling your dog, which could lead to a safety issue if someone was recalling their dog and there was any aggression, you wouldn't have a taunt leash in any timely fashion.I took my dog out again hoping another use would yield a different review, it did't. Not a quality purchase.On a positive note, I did drop it and it didn't break so there is at least some durability to the product!

I purchased 2 of these to use with our 30-40 lb dogs. This is the first one I used and it looked like this after 4 walks in our back yard.I used the new one last week once with my 28 lb girl and then used it for the 2nd and third time with our 40 lb boy. The strap/ribbon on it broke right apart with the 3rd use.What a waste of money. I really thought these would be better than the cable type, but I was wrong!Don't buy them, they don't last!!!

This is supposed to be for "large dogs". This wouldn't have worked for a miniature poodle!Within the first hour of the first walk (with a small lab - less than 45 lbs) the lock was flaky and the retractable leash would no longer retract. Not a good product and was returned the next day. The Return process was very easy and was credited within a short period of time.
