amateur hour!
This book is so badly done that it is unusable. I can't wait to send it winging back to amazon (and I've only returned one other item in 10 years of being a heavy user...) The photographs are so badly lit that it is sometimes completely impossible to make out what is an arm or leg. The design is awful, and the printing worse. The authors should have printed a sample copy (as this is seems to be a bad version of print on demand) for themselves to see if you could actually make out the images. The instructions are not well thought out as well... they specify "3 springs", for instance, not what the range is, or which color springs, which makes a big difference in how the exercise is meant to be done. Yuck.

Don't Buy
This book is NOT instructional. Lacks any clarity as to how to actually perform the various moves. Only two pictures per move with no real instruction. No real description of how to perform the move either. If you are looking for a book to help learn pilates or develop a routine I would recommend that you go to your local bookstore so that you can look inside the book before buying. This was a total waste of my money. I'll be going to the bookstore this weekend.Doesn't really even deserve one star... It's like they weren't even trying....

Pilates Reformer Personal Studio Guide
I was really disappointed in the book, it isn't user friendly while working on the machine and the layout is confusing. Back to videos I think. I am going to rent some different videos from Netflix and when I find ones I like I will purchase. Will probably donate the book to the library, not worth the hassle of returning.

Watered down
This is a watered down version of Pilates Reformer Training Manual (Official International Training Manual , which I highly recommend for the at home user. This book is practically useless since it doesn't explain proper the techniques for the exercises.

Great little guide!
This is a great pocket size Pilates guide! I can use it while I'm working on my reformer at home, or slip it into my bag, take it to the studio, and go through my regular reformer routine. The notes on each page remind me where to focus. The springs and repetitions for each exercise are based on the traditional Pilates reformer. I also have the Pilates Reformer Manual that parallels the small guide and gives more detailed information.

Excels if you already know the proper form of the exercises
I am finding this booklet extremely useful. It doesn't fully describe each exercise but it does give tips for things to watch for that could easily be missed. It is the only booklet I've come across ( and I have bought at least 8 Pilates books plus various DVDs ) that actually states how many springs to work with. It has exercises in good order as well as stating which level exercise they each are. This is exactly what I need at my level and I'm very happy with my purchase.
