Not exactly consumer friendly, but it's not broken either.
Was easy enough to install- just plug it in. Except for the fact that if you want to use this as an actual generic bluetooth dongle that you can connect generic bluetooth devices to you need to do a little modification in the system settings. This can be done by going into device manager (Right click on the "My Computer" desktop icon, or the "Computer" link found on the right hand side of the start menu and select manage.) You will need admin rights for this action, so if you don't have em, ask your IT department to come visit. Under system tools, you should find the device manager page. In that page a list of all the devices connected to your computer. In the device manager list you will find a list of Bluetooth Radios, in there you will find something named CSR Bluetooth 4.0 dongle or something similar- if your unsure which is the new dongle you've put in your computer go ahead and unplug it and the list will update and get rid of it- plug it back in and see what shows up.Right click the radio that your trying to get to work as a generic bluetooth adapter and select update driver, because we want to change how the computer utilizes the device, we need to change the driver. Select the "browse my computer for driver software" then "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer" here you should get a list of compatible drivers, Then choose the "Generic bluetooth adapter" and your computer will update the driver, after which you should get the bluetooth icon in your lower right hand system tray.

and it's absolutely perfect at that
Using this product with Linux is as simple as just plugging it in - it was automatically detected and worked out of the box. I'd bought it for communication with Bluetooth Low Energy devices, and it's absolutely perfect at that.

Good adapter, great price!
I was not sure at first with this adapter as I was having some issues getting Windows 10 to recognize it as a Bluetooth adapter. I absolutely could not get it to transmit. I was stuck so I contacted the seller and he was a great help!I like to consider myself very tech savvy but every once in a while, I do get hung up on an issue. I was actually able to work through the problem on my own but the quick response from the seller and willingness to assist was great (considering the low cost of the adapter). Here is a tip for anyone having issues with this or any Bluetooth adapter:In my case, Windows automatically installed (the driver automatically installed incorrectly) so it was not showing up as an option for Bluetooth. Here is what I did to rectify the issue:The solution was to:Open Device ManagerRight click on "CSR" item under "Bluetooth Devices"Click "Update Drivers"Select the option to choose the driver yourselfSelect "Generic Bluetooth Dongle" driverAfter that, Windows 10 recognized the adapter and it now works. I am finally able to use the Bluetooth keyboard now.I hope this helps save someone if they are having issues. Computers are awesome but they sometimes make mistakes as well!!Definitely recommend this adapter!

Requires some adjustment
Works great but does require a bit of tweaking. Unfortunately, i did not receive the cd that is suppose to come with it. But i did get it to work. At first i plugged it in and let windows do its part. ( Windows 7). but it still wasnt working properly i did as one of the reviewers said and changed the radio to adapter and still had issues. then i installed the Toshiba driver as suggested which worked well but then i started getting the Blue Screen of Death so i had to to remove it. Eventually, i stumbled upon this site which had the driver and program that came with this and downloaded it. Take note theres a 32 bit and a 64 bit version. http://www.sevenforums.com/drivers/338736-csr8510a10-driver-here-available.html. Now everything works great.

Purchased 2. No driver needed, easy plug n play. Using for DS4 Controllers on Steam
I purchased two of these BT receivers in order to connect DS4 controllers to my PC's for use in steam games. I plugged the first one in and received an error message telling me that the USB device malfunctioned and cannot be recognized by windows. The other one worked perfectly fine when plugged in and connected to the controller via the DS4Windows application without an issue. (Windows BT driver worked and there was no need to install the included software.)I contacted the seller and am waiting for a response. While I would recommend this product, it does seem that there may be a lack in quality control. I understand this is one of the least expensive BT receivers on Amazon, so that's not entirely surprising. But I await to see the quality of customer service from the company selling these.edit: received a quick response from the seller and they shipped out a replacement quickly. Both are now working great and I'm very pleased with the ease of use of this product.

Works good, be careful on driver install though.
The good about is that it worked partially upon being plugged in, though that did cause some conflicts with my driver installation and forced me to have to reinstall. Past that it has done everything I have tried with it. As well it is compatible with Toshiba Bluetooth stack drivers, but is only a trial version if you want to use them with this. The bad is already somewhat stated. The driver install can be a bit finicky and my first install I had issues since windows over wrote some of the drivers and broke functionality, but upon reinstall it worked it fine. So be careful and either turn off windows auto-detect or allow it to fully finish before you install the drivers supplied with it.Will say I am glad it worked out for everything I need so far, now to see if it works with the demands I have in the future.
