Okay, I went out to the local big-box hardware emporium to pick up 4-prong generator cable. I was shocked at the price!! Good golly, well over $100 for basically an extension cord. So I ordered these from Amazon, a male and female connector. Then using 30 amp 10 gauge wire I had on hand, I made my own 25 foot cable. There a good number of other 5-star reviews on these components so nothing to add other than if you need to make a generator cable, pick up this 4-prong connector set.

These plugs are of very high quality and were easy to install. I made my own generator cable with these and saved a few bucks. I got 10/4 wire at Lowes for about $2/foot and I can br sure of whats in my cable. These arrived within 3 days and that counts Sunday. I am very satisfied.

The male plug of the kit is good however the female plug appears to be a counterfeit all of the barbs inside the plug are loose causing them to twist inside the case making it impossible four the male plug to go in, I have four that did this

Pass and Seymour are a quality plug, easy to use and last for years of rough service. Price here is about half of the box stores.

Someone gave me a long generator cord they didn't need anymore, but it didn't have the correct sized plugs. This kit from Amazon was exactly what I needed. They were pretty easy to install and I like how the compression clips gave it a really tight fit. They look good (no nasty electrical tape like the old plugs) and I'm confident that they're snug and secure.

I bought this set to make up a back-up cable to the standby generator. Initial tests using these connectors was very satisfactory. The cable used was a SOW cable with 10 AWG conductors. I think that 8 AGW conductors could be accommodated. So for backup standby service these connectors should work just fine.I agree with the majority of the reviews that others have written.

This set is made very well. I used 10/4 wire and it fit perfectly. These were used with  Cerrowire 283-3804E 150-Feet 10/4 SOOW Rubber Flexible Extra Heavy Duty Cord, Black  to make a 100-foot generator cable.

It works fine, just oversized vs buying plug and generator cord as one unit. I assume it’s large due to heavy electrical cord.
