I'm loving this journal. I usually get watercolor paper journals but tried this because of size and price. The paper is smooth and takes watercolor and several washes amazingly! I've done acrylic in it also and it handles it fabulously! The size is nice and big....and it opens flatly! Love it!! I don't even mind the soft leather instead of hardback...I might actually prefer it now. I can't wait to go through this one to order another!

I've been trying zillions of different sketchbooks looking for the "one" that checked all the boxes, and I think this is it. It has 270gsm paper so I can use markers or paint or ink without bleed thru. It lays flat and creates a great horizontal spread from the square pages. The pages are white and very smooth. Not entirely as slick as bristol board but very very close. It's a pleasure to draw/write/paint in this sketchbook.

The quality of the paper in this sketchbook is amazing. It's thick and holds up well to water based media.
