One-time reimbursement, not insurance
When I think of a protection plan that lasts for two years, I think of a plan that will cover all accidents to your phone. Your screen cracks, they fix it. You spill water on it later, they fix it again. I assume I will be eligible for all problems noted, for the entire two-year period. The listing certainly makes it sounds this way. And the No Lemon Policy in the user guide certainly makes it sound as though multiple repairs are possible. But this didn't happen with me. My screen cracked, and I started a claim. Was told to send my phone in--a very awkward thing to do, as this is a work phone, and I need it when I am working. I asked on the Amazon listing page if it was really necessary to send it in for repairs (after all, the Asurion website makes it pretty clear that you are supposed to get it fixed locally--they even boast of same-day service), and was simply told to call them for details. I found this a bit sketchy, like, why wouldn't they answer the question publicly? So anyway, I sucked it up and sent it in. A couple of days later, I got an e-mail with an Amazon credit for my purchase price. That was it. No fixed phone, just a reimbursement. I had important work texts on that phone that I can't get back. Furthermore, when I first bought the phone it was on sale, but after I got the reimbursement credit, the cost went up by almost a hundred dollars. So I was now out the $34 I paid for the plan, plus an extra hundred for the overage on the new phone. Does it cost $134 to repair a cracked screen? Moreover, the plan is obviously no longer valid, because it was for that particular phone. Instead of getting two years of coverage, I got one reimbursement. If my replacement phone cracks, I don't get to use the protection plan that I thought was going to last for two years. I am not sure why I got a reimbursement credit instead of repairs so that I could continue to use the plan for the entire two years. To sum it up, don't get this is you expect to get your phone repaired for two years. Only get it if you're okay with totally replacing your phone once if something should happen to it.

Dependable coverage
I used this for coverage on my son's rugged cell phone. We have been using Asurion's insurance for years on numerous cell phones over the years. It's a great value for your money and the speed you get you getting your gift card once we've returned the product back to Asurion.

Only time I've ever purchased a warranty -- but I did end up needing it!
I've been buying Blu brand cell phones for years and after dropping and cracking the screen on the last one I had for 3 yrs. I was feeling vulnerable given our obvious reliance on these dang phones so I did purchase the extended warranty protection this last time. Alas, the model I bought turned out to be a clunker after about 1.5 yrs., giving up the ghost with battery freakouts + dying pixels, both of which were inexplicable (and Blu phones have built-in batteries that Can't be replaced). Battery went from 65% to shutting itself off for the umpteenth time, when rebooted showed battery @ 1%)....so I backtracked on my warranty info and it was truly easy as pie, their whole process was simple and Quick. I won't fault them in detracting stars although I was Disappointed that I didn't receive the refund back on the actual card used to purchase my phone -- but it's instead disbursed as an Amazon gift card. Oh well. But am Relieved and grateful overall I had the protection the one time I needed it, and the process on their end has zero room for improvement, handled Excellently. Clear, and also easy. THANKS, Asurion!!
