developments for characters like Noelle, who would otherwise be mistreated in any other battle shonen. Still, I'm not sure what kind of excitement I'm supposed to be getting out of the rest of these fight scenes. There's little context to add weight to the encounters.some of the battles were introduced and then ended before we got to see more. It made them feel disjointed, choppy and the whole storyline went too fast. Not that I need to linger on this part of the story, the elves have a particular goal they are working toward and these battles are clearly the way the mangaka chose to make them clear to us.
