The Big Bang Theory: Season 5 [Blu-ray]

This was not a good choice for our family and our personal standards. We enjoy the humor of the show ... but his particular season seemed richer in smut than in humor!! All a matter of taste ... but we tossed this particular buy as we didn't want it as part of our video library!!! Not at all Amazon's fault ... the delivery was excellent ... the content was just not our cup of tea, so to speck!!

I love the Big Bang Theory. I live out in the country without any good TV stations so i tend to buy seasons of my favorite shows to watch after work every night.The disc and the case arrived in excellent condition. I have only had the pleasure of enjoying the first disc but I do however look forward to watching the rest.

The Big Bang Theory is the one show I turn to consistently if I'm having a bad day and need a good laugh. Sometimes the story lines aren't as good as they could be, but overall it's one of my favorite tv shows. One of the things I like the best about the show is that the characters all care about each other. They may get irritated with each other and have arguments, but there's no outright nastiness or mean-spiritedness on the show. That's refreshing when so many comedies rely on nasty comments and humiliation of characters to get laughs. Jim Parsons' character (Sheldon Cooper) is as delightful as he is annoying. I enjoy watching Sheldon develop as a character. Really, they all do and it's good to see. Too many shows lack character development and get stuck in a rut. BBT does not. I absolutely adore this show. Even a bad episode is better than most of the other "comedies" on tv.

We have never been fans of sitcoms. This was recommended to us by a friend and to appease her, we watched an episode a couple years ago. After that, we became hooked and looked forward to watching it each night since several episodes run back-to-back each evening. We decided that we needed to own each of the seasons as they came out so we could see them in their intended order. The individual characters are lovable in their own way and I love the fact that they included a character with selective mutism. Our favorites are Sheldon and Bernadette, though the series would not be the same if any one of them was phased out of the series. The storyline continues to develop nicely and it hasn't reached the point of becoming stale any time soon. The series is geared toward a mature audience. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a well-developed group of quirky characters.

It's always been fashionable for Nerds to pose as superior beings who would like to believe themselves to be too sophisticated for the mainstream sitcom: except when that sitcom is The Big Bang Theory and plays all too nicely to their (our) particular intellectual and sexual wish fulfillment fantasies. In this aspect the show rather resembles Downton Abbey, which stripped to its core is little more than Days of Our Lives retooled for an audience that reads the New York Times. It's both embarrassing and fascinating (and relaxing) to be so addicted to a kind of TV show I would ordinarily despise.Addictive as it undeniably is in its current incarnation, the show in some ways almost seems an evolutionary throwback to the 1990s when episode plots were largely self-contained and the laugh track reigned supreme. It's not hard to see how the show's creators could have made the show into something more adventurous a la Firefly or the original Arrested Development: the short lifespans of both shows probably explain why they didn't. One can't help but wonder what sort of mischief the talented BBT ensemble might have gotten themselves into if given the less constrictive canvas of online-only media to work with: a looser, more improv-driven style seems like a better fit for the show's spirit and is presumably much easier to make work financially via online streaming. Amazon would do well to snatch up many if not all of the show's actors and down the road give them something they can have a bit more fun with, while doing away with grating vestigial devices such as the laugh track that BBT includes presumably in order to make the show more friendly for syndicated TV.In this sense the show might be thought of as before its time, if only as an example of what might have been (or still might be) possible had it started now, instead of 7 years ago.

Since the get-go, my husband son and I have not missed an episode. Every Thursday I set the DVR so we can "Big-Bang-alize." This means throwing in a pizza, settling down in the living room and letting Penny....Penny....Penny....rip. Jim Parsons has got to be one of the most talented comedians around. But he would be lost without the chemistry between him and Leonard, throw in Raj and Howard, and then the slowly increasing female population, well, it's ridiculously funny. Amy, Bernadette, Penny...heck...ANY of these characters could have turned out to be cliche'. Happily, the writing talent matches the acting talent.I remember when I first heard of this show before the pilot it was billed as "two nerds get the pretty girl." Ah what a disservice that advertising was!!We watch each new episode repeatedly, I buy every DVD set that comes out, and then we Big-Bang-alize in marathon sessions off-season.Don't stop at Season 5. You must MUST get all seasons!

Eins muß man ganz klar sagen: die ersten 4 Staffeln sind nicht zu toppen. Gerade was das nerdige und die Soziale Inkompetenz der 4 männlichen Hauptdarsteller und auch das Ausmaß an wirklicher Situationskomik - da komt keine weitere Staffel ran. So etwas wie Entwicklung der einzelnen Charaktere fängt in dieser Staffel an.Erst ab Folge 17 (Antisportler) wird diese Staffel lustig. Der sportliche Wettstreit von Sheldon und Kripke ist einfach nur großartig. Das ist Body Comedy und Slapstick vom Feinsten. Auch Howard`s NASA Training liefert diverse Heiterkeitsausbrüche.Irgendwie wirkt diese Staffel, als ob die Schreiber die übrig gebliebenen Gags der 4. Staffel aufgewärmt haben. Lediglich die Folgen 17 - 24 haben Format und Witz.... und somit eine Rückkehr zu alter Form.

Bei den Nerds vom Caltech in Pasadena herrscht auch in der fünften Staffel schräger Hochbetrieb. Sheldon präsentiert gemeinsam mit Amy erstmals seinen Podcast "Fun with Flags", Raj outet sich als metrosexuell, Leonard möchte erneut eine Beziehung mit Penny, und Howard will nicht nur Bernadette heiraten, sondern ganz hoch hinaus: als Ingenieur zur Raumstation ISS.Klar, dass es dabei überall Komplikationen gibt. Howard wird im NASA-Jargon nicht zum ersehnten 'Rocket Man', sondern zum belächelten 'Fruit Loops'. (Folge 24) Und Sheldon muss schlimme Dienste verrichten, um sein Idol Stephen Hawking treffen zu dürfen (Folge 21). Zuvor liefert er sich mit Forscher-Erzfeind Kripke einen hoch amüsanten Basketball-Wettkampf, wer in das frei gewordene Büro eines übergeschnappten Professors einziehen darf (Folge 17).Ein Highlight ist auch Episode 20, in der Mr. Spock Sheldon im Traum erscheint.Immer wieder ein Genuss ist es beim Abspann jeder Folge die Vanity Cards von Produzent/Drehbuchschreiber Chuck Lorre zu lesen. Mal einfach nur gedanklicher Unfug, dann wieder philosophischer Kick.In Summe wieder eine sehr gute Staffel, wenngleich ich mich der Kritik einiger Vorrezensenten anschließen möchte: mehr Nerdtum und weniger Beziehungsprobleme wäre noch besser.

Die Beziehungen werden intensiver, die vier Jungs sind kaum noch allein anzutreffen, dass bringtalles etwas aus dem Konzept der ersten Staffeln.Leonard, nach der Trennung von Prija, möchte wieder mit Penny zusammenkommen.Sheldon und Amy, eine Freundschaft ohne Beziehung? Und der arme Raj, bleibt allein?Nur Howard soll noch heiraten bevor er ins All abhebt.Trotz dieser Beziehungskisten find ich sie immer noch super und bin gespannt auf die nächste Staffel.Besonders komisch das Sportduell zwischen Shelton und Kripke, wegen Anspruch auf ein leergewordenes Büro.Als Special-Gaststar: Stephen HawkinsIch überlegte eine Zeit ob 4 oder 5 Sterne, entschied mich aber für 5*****. Sie sind einfach zu gut um sie herabzusetzen.Mit Bild und Ton war ich sehr zufrieden,es gibt kein Wendecover,ein Flyer liegt bei mit den Titeln der jeweiligen Folge und kurzem Inhalt,die DVD's sind so untergebracht das man jede einzeln rausnehmen kann, ohne eine andere zuvor zu entnehmen.Extras: TBBT - 100 Folgen,TBBT's Laws of Reflection,Professor's of Productions,Gag Reel.

Serie tv ironica e divertente,mai volgare.L'ho guardata in tv,repliche comprese e mi è piaciuta moltissimo.Secondo me è la miglior serie tv degli ultimi anni.Ci tenevo ad avere la serie in dvd per poterla guardare quando voglio e farmi qualche sana risata.Soddisfatta dell'acquisto.Buonissimo il rapporto qualità prezzo.

TBBT è una di quelle serie che, gli amanti del genere, non possono non vedere e non tenere nella propria collezione.è necessario un minimo di partecipazione ( qualche regola di fisica di base, conoscenza di altre serie TV che vengono citate ) per godere al massimo dei dialoghi!

Wie immer bei diesem Genre leiert das Thema ab hier etwas aus, die beiden neuen Frauen sind jede auf ihre Weise unerträglich, die schauspielerischen Leistung ist zwar gut, aber Amy mit ihren homosexuellen Anwandlungen Richtung Penny nervt nur noch und Bernadette ist eine nicht gut definierte Figur, sie soll Wissenschaftlerin sein, das passt nicht zu vielen geschilderten Situationen, außerdem wird der Gag, dass sie evtl. kontaminierte Materialien missbraucht hat, extrem überstrapaziert

Ich habe durch eine Freundin von dieser Serie erfahren und habe mir ein paar Folgen der, ka wievielten Staffel im TV morgends angeguckt. Diese fand ich schon sehr amüsant und deshalb hab ich mir die ganzen Staffeln erstmal besorgt.Ich bin wirklich hellauf begeistert von dieser Serie! Unfassbar das ich die nicht schon früher gesehen oder drauf aufmerksam wurde!!! Jeder der diese Serie noch nicht kennt, sollte sich diese sehr ans Herz legen! Sie macht irrsinnig Spass und ist sowas von lustig^^ Ganz Ganz klare Kaufempfehlung!Da es hier viele gibt, die sich über die Bildqualität auslassen der DVD und au die Bluray nicht empfehlen, da diese anscheinend keine wirkliche Steigerung ist. Muss ich zumindest bei der DVD wiedersprechen!Die Qualität des DVD Bildes ist wirklich einwandfrei! Keine Ahnung obs an meinen DVDs liegt oder an euren Fernseheinstellungen oder Playern!Ich schaue über die PS3 auf einem 47" Schirm und hab wirklich keinerlei Mängel am Bild feststellen können!!!

The Big Bang Theory is the best comedy series today! Hilarious! It has five main characters; three scientists, one engineer, and one beautiful waitress/actress. Dr. Leonard Leaky Hofstadter (Johnny Galecki): Experimental Physicist, is the most normal one of the four nerds. Dr Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons): Theoretical Physicist, suffers from C.O.D., thinks he is better than everyone else. Sheldon seems to be unaware of feelings. Sheldon and Leonard are roommates. Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg): Masters Degree in Engineering, likes to believe he is the coolest of the gang and has sex on his mind most of the time; still lives with his Mother. Sheldon has a tendency of letting Howard know that he "only" has a Masters Degree. Rajnesh Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar): Astrophysicist, Raj is from India, cannot talk around women unless he drinks; he can then become obnoxious. The four guys all work at the California Institute of Technology. Penny (Kaley Cuoco): Waitress at the Cheesecake Factory and aspiring actress, neighbour to Sheldon and Leornard, is still in love with Leornard.

Gäbs diese Typen und schrägen Nerds nicht im echten Leben, man hätte sie erfinden müssen. Ist hiermit geschehen. Und zum grossen Vergnügen aller können wir aus der Warte der liebenswürdigen Kellnerin Penny (Kaley Cuoco) mitverfolgen, wie uns schräge akademische Vogel um die Ohren fliegen - bis hinauf in den Weltraum, um dort Weltraum-Klos zu installieren. Ein Kompliment den nimmermüden Skript-Autor/innen für ihre Dialoge und schrägen Einfälle. Auch die Synchronisation vermag zu überzeugen.

Sehr lustige Serie mit sehr coolen Schauspielern, die ihre Rollen wirklich sehr gut annehmen und rüberbringen. Ob Sheldon, Leonard, Penny, Howard, Raj, Bernadett und Amy und die jeweiligen Familienangehörigen sind einfach sensationell! Immer einen Lacher wert. Im Englischen kommen die Witze besser rüber. Wenn man einen Nachmittag nix zu tun hat, schlecht drauf ist oder einfach nur Bock auf was lustiges hat, ist man bei den Nerds hervorragend aufgehoben!

Il giudizio probabilmente è di parte, in quanto sono un 'appassionato di questa divertentissima serie tv, ma per me è la migliore che abbia mai visto. Infatti è l'unica della quale ho acquistato i DVD. La rivedi senza stancarti mai. L'assenza di contenuti speciali per me non è un problema, le curiosità sulla serie le cerco in internet, ma ammetto che avrebbero dato valore aggiunto.

Era da tanto che volevo prendere questa serie TV da vedere, durante i vari anni, con il lavoro, avevo visto solo di sfuggita qualche puntata e mi aveva subito catturato.Adesso con la promozione 3x2 sulle serie TV di Amazon ho preso le prime 6 stagioni, quindi due non le ho nemmeno pagate!!E comunque i prezzi delle singole stagioni sono più bassi qui su Amazon, rispetto alle varie catene che hanno dvd.Amazon è sempre il numero 1!!Ovviamente mi hanno consegnato il tutto perfettamente imballato e con sempre un giorno di anticipo rispetto alla scadenza!!GRAZIE!

Seguo i ragazzi di BBT fin dalla prima serie e sono stati una piacevole scoperta, Chuck Lorre mantiene un livello di commedia sofisticato ed interessante, con un ritmo impressionante. Non ci sono tempi morti, battute di buon livello (non sempre tradotte fedelmente in italiano, ma per questo c'è il doppio audio inglese-italiano) e un cast eccezionale. Consigliato!

Leider hat die Serie in Staffel 5 etwas nachgelassen. Sie steigt zur normalen Sitcom herab. Wo es zuvor sehr erfrischend war, die Nerds mit Beziehungsfragen zu konfrontieren und sie immer wieder grandios scheitern zu lassen, kommt mir jetzt des Pudels Kern etwas abhanden: die Schrulligkeit, Egomanie und Andersartigkeit der vier. Plötzlich hat jeder eine Freundin, ein Liebesleben und demgemäß dreht sich Vieles darum. An und für sich ok, aber sowas sieht man eben auch in anderen Sitcoms. Bitte mehr Nerdfaktor in den nächsten Staffeln!

I've enjoyed all 5 seasons of the Big Bang Theory and was thrilled when my copy of Season 6 arrived yesterday. Thanks Amazon.ca for being so fast in delivery.The show continues to be brilliantly written and acted. Bernadette and Amy have added so much to the cast and watching Howard become less slimy around women and Sheldon become more human around Amy has been gratifying. The show still makes me laugh. I grew up with a "Sheldon" next door- his name was William and his parents were like Leonard's. Those people do exist. Looking forward to Sept. 27th when the 6th season starts. Keep the laughs coming.
