This is a great product
Love this milk can. Its easy to carry, even if its full, The lid fits great, no worries of it spilling out once the lid is on, and I am able to easily milk my goats right into the can no issues. Will be ordering a few more.

Great water container for hauling drinking water
I live in a small mountain town where the public water is laced with radium and flourite from all the old mines in the area. Fortunately the town has a Reverse Osmosis water machine, and you need to bring your own containers to fill. I purchased two of this 2 gallon dairy containers for hauling water home. I am so happy with this purchase. The containers are well made, easy to wash out, the handle is sturdy which makes transporting them easy, and the lids fit perfectly snug and tight, so there is no sloshing of water out of the container. I will gladly buy more of these again if I need them.

great product.
I am a big ice tea drinker. I used to use a plastic jug, but with all of the forever chemicals and the fact that tea would turn skunky after a few days, I decided to try something new. I like to make at least a gallon at a time, lasts a few days. I went to glass, and tried two or three, and even though they said they were rated for the heat of making tea (sometimes I just put it outside), they all broke within 3 uses. I looked around at stainless pitchers, but none came with a sealable lid. I tried this one and it is fantastic. A bit awkward to pour, but you can get it spotless clean before use unlike plastic, and the tea never gets skunky. I even forgot it once and went on vacation and the tea was still good.

Great bucket but not true stainless
This bucket is the perfect size for milking our 2 mini Nubians. It is sturdy, the perfect weight, and easy to clean. The bucket looks like stainless, but the finish rubs offs/leaves marks in the sink when washing and some of the areas where the handle/lid are connected already had light rust when it arrived.

Great for hauling water
This is MUCH better than potentially dangerous plastic water bottles or super-heavy glass for transporting water. The size (2-gal) is just right for me. I have difficulty carrying 3+ gal PLUS bags of groceries up my steps. This is big enough to fill twice a week with water at our local Coop, but light enough to lug around. It seems all stainless steel. No rust so far. Our only complaint is the lid has some burrs on the inside ring (water-side) that should have been filed down before release. So far the insert-lid hasn't been scratched up so we're not complaining. But we'll have to do that ourselves as the burrs are sharp and dangerous. The lid isn't leak-proof but fits securely enough that if you're just transporting water a short distance, the lid stays on securely. It also doesn't leak water as our car moves over standard road bumps...Two bonuses: 1) Fat entry so no trouble collecting water. But watch out for big splashes if you're emptying this into another vessel. 2) Large handle so easy to hold/grasp.Do I think this is worth the normal, full price? No. Otherwise I'd buy another. But if you ever find it on sale, it's better than the alternatives--including the stainless steel 1-gal containers ALL which have nasty plastic lids. So with this, you're really paying for a stainless steel lid. Otherwise you could get two 1-gal stainless steel bottles for less than one of these at full price.Until water bottle companies stop using dangerous plastic lids, you have to pay a premium for an ALL stainless steel water vessel. On sale, this is one of the best on Amazon now.

great quality, will buy another, not really a gallon
Very Nice SS pot folks. As others have stated, your just not sure what to expect since I have never bought a lindy's product before but have herd of the name as I have friends that are dairy farmers. It is an excellent quality product. I can honestly say that I received my box with the jug and was anxious when I opened it, I just wanted to see good quality and not be disappointed. AND, it was.I am very particular and do my research but you just don't know till you get it. This is very nice, the lid is not a sealed lid. They have put a small divot on one side that allows the lid to be force-ably seated. it is not "sealed" but very close. they use the divot or little bump to wedge the lid into place to hold it but not seal it. It requires very little effort to seat the lid but it is not sealed or by any means a screw on cap or anything like that. it is a wedge design and you seat it and push it down a bit and it uses friction from the single little bump to lock it in place. once I realized how it seated I was still very happy as I wasn't expecting a screw down seal.VERY sturdy handle, bail and really solid SS lid. it is one of the best quality SS items I have purchased in a while and I LOVE SS. I will likely use it most for camping and around the house for gardening and cooking but I grew up milking a cow on a farm and it would be fantastic for that as it is it's intent.it has a nice HEAVY duty long bail and this thing can take a beating. I opened the box and pulled it out and quite literally went - sweet. This is really nice quality and well built.I'm not a big fan of welded supports but for the intended audience and purpose it is spot on. As a milk container you do not want rivets on the inside to collect bacteria. This is totally smooth on the inside. no seams, rivets or otherwise. instead of being riveted from a heavy duty standpoint, you have spot welded connections for the bail and lid. You have to realize what this is built for. It is intended as a "milking jug". you don't want seams, rivets or anything on the inside of the jug to allow for bacteria to find a way to get into the nooks and cranny's.my personal use is not for milking a goat, I wanted it for a gallon jug to collect water for camping and boiling. cooking stews and general use. which it was not initially intended or designed for. For what it was designed for, it is exceptional. for what it was not designed for, it is exceptional and a tremendous value. good job folks at Lindy's.My last comment is that it is sold as a "gallon" jug, and it is, if you fill it to the absolute tippy top, which you cannot by any stretch of the imagination put the lid on when filled to that point, then it is a gallon. it is more realistically about 3 to 3 and a half quart - 1 gallon being 4 quarts.in summary:I love it, buy it - you won't be dissapointed.

Sturdy.
The lid fits, the handle is sturdy. Good product. I use it for water; the lid keeps the dog out, and I can quickly and easily slop some out into my electric kettle right in my room for tea without waiting at the sink in the kitchen for ages.
