A Good Biography About One of History’s Great Industrial Titans
I bought this book partly because I wanted to read a biography of John Rockefeller that wasn’t completely biased against him. This biography is quite readable, and seems to be written at a middle school level. But don’t let the reading level fool you: this is a very informative biography that doesn’t ignore some of the underhanded methods Rockefeller used to achieve success, despite the author’s sympathetic view of the oil tycoon. Other biographies delve into Rockefeller’s life in much greater detail, but this book remains a very good introduction to John Rockefeller’s life and career.

thoroughly enjoyed the read
Others have complained about the reading level of this book, I found it may be true but it made it a quick read with all the main facts about the Rockefeller family. I have always been curious about the term "Rockefeller" when others use it as a pun. This book was quite interesting. It included tidbits probably that may not be included in other books such as his temperament and how he got along with his peers and family.

Reasonable Summary
I was a reasonable summary about the life of John D. Rockefeller but did not go into enough details about his progression in the oil business and the accumulation of his wealth. Overall an enjoyable read.

Interesting read
It was interesting that the writer wrote about the good and the bad. We will never understand how the world became what it is with out reading about the famous people and How they influenced it. I liked that the writer told of what was going on for example the oil industry was taking place at the same time as the Civil War was taking place

Almost Complete
The author tries to paint a flattering portrait of Mr. Rockefeller. There are details of his life that I know about that he tries to gloss over. The most interesting parts are the chapters on his father.

a Great Man
Absolutely a must read. Great business man, loved his family and helped so many people. His interest in developing universities wa# an incredible asset. This book is worth reading.

A business man that loved business for the sake of business.
Excellent bio on this misunderstood man. Not nearly the villain the left makes him to be. He seemed cold and ruthless at times but was really just business orinated all the time. He couldn't control the enormous wealth he made. It just came with his work ethic.
