Exactly as shown and with a personal touch!
Like most, I got this yarn to darn a hole in a cashmere item. The item I got is EXACTLY what is shown, and exactly what I needed for darning, so I’m happy! The seller included a handwritten thank you note addressed to me by name, which I found extremely thoughtful and cute, hence why I’m reviewing this store and not others, as most come with a form letter thanking you and asking for a review. The fact they sat down and did this little note by hand, and included my name (Thus treating me like a human and not a mindless consumer), says a lot! Also, some have complained this is thread; The seller states that this is skinny yarn and suggests you double or triple up on the yarn you’re using if you need thicker. I’ve found thick cashmere yarn, but the price for a ball—not enough to make anything—is 3 figures. Per ball. Cashmere clothes are expensive, so it follows that the yarn would be, too (Otherwise why would anyone wear anything else?!) I’m very happy with my purchase!

Does not feel like cashmere
Bought this after reading the reviews and knowing well that it is very thin - single ply. If you are knitting and are used to yarn weights described in words, this is lace-weight. I bought enough spools to combine the threads into a thicker yarn. Got it on time. The spools are not large, but reasonable in size for the price. However, to the touch, the yarn does not feel like cashmere. It's not particularly soft. Not coarse either, but feels just like regular wool that comes from sheep. I have not started the project yet. May update as I work on it and see how the fabric evolves.UPDATE: This is wonderful yarn, so I am changing the rating from 3 starts to 5. I bought dark blue and had to combine the thread from three spools into one ball. The ball turned out to be HUGE. I used half of it to make the vest shown in the picture here. The yarn is remarkably soft and silky. Will be buying more. Well worth it for the price.

Very Nice, Exactly As Described
Yarn exactly as described. I think the bad review must have come from someone who read only the product title without reading the product description. I've only seen 100% cashmere yarn with a very fine diameter, no thicker than embroidery thread. I've only seen larger "cashmere" yarn as mixed fibers, such as cotton + cashmere, where the other fiber constitutes the majority (greater than 80-90%, usually). This yarn will be perfect for repairing a mildly moth eaten cashmere sweater I purchased from an online thrift store. Will post photos after the repairs are complete. I will be purchasing from this vendor again for other colors to use for repairs in other items. This yarn would also make a lovely fine lace shawl. Remember that with good wool, even a very thin fabric will still keep you very warm.I also received 2 gift packages with my purchase as an unexpected bonus--a pair of cute bamboo socks and 2 spools of elastic thread. Thank you!

Really cool yarn
Magnificent yarn, the thread is thin, even, without seals and thinning, perfectly twisted, does not separate. Knitting is a real pleasure. Very pleasant to the touch. I knit a gossamer shawl out of it for a cool summer. The shawl is very delicate and easy to assemble in your hand! I think when I knit it, it will become my favorite for a cool summer day.

So soft
This is so soft. I did need to practice with it at first just because I had never used anything this fine and soft before (I crochet), but I ended up making gorgeous soft lacey baby hats for my neices with it.

Excellent yarn
This yarn is thin, thread-like, and I'm using it to make a large C2C crocheted square with a size 3 hook which will be folded into a triangle to wear as a shawl. I've already frogged back my first attempt and the yarn held up extremely well. Using a single strand, it's thin enough to pass through a wedding ring and a double layer will be quite cozy. Splicing is a breeze. I definitely recommend this yarn.

kept breaking from the spool
I was disappointed by the quality of the thread. I bought it to make repairs in a cashmere sweater that the moths lunched on. The thread kept breaking as I unwound it from the cone/spool. I had to do the mending very gently and I hope that the thread will hold when the sweater is washed. I was so looking forward to getting more colors but I will have to look elsewhere. The package came with a nice hand written thank you note and a pair of brown and black bamboo socks and 2 spools of black elastic thread.
