I’ve been using these for years and they’re a good product. Just don’t leave them outduring freezing weather. They will crack and break otherwise you should get 3 to 5 years use out of them.

Just hooked it up today. Hand tight, didn't use any tools. It's working great so far, no leaks at all! I honestly expected it to leak after seeing the reviews. Maybe they got a bad one or just user error.. For the price, this is excellent! It's like the old egg timers, no batteries. You can hear it clicking if you get close enough but it's a lot quieter than the egg timers, you'll only hear it if you put your ear up to the dial. Just push and hold the little black switch down and turn the dial to the preferred time you'd like it to run, release the switch and once the timer reaches 0, the switch flips back up shutting off the water. I tested it and set it to run for 15 minutes, as soon as it reached 0, the switch flipped up and the water immediately stopped. No drips, nothing. I don't have to worry about forgetting to turn the water off anymore! My wallet will appreciate this $10 fix! Haha. Also, just a heads up, that little black switch is the shutoff valve. If the water is on, as soon as you push that switch down, the water will immediately start running. Good flow, easy to install, and easy to use.

Orbit Mechanical Water Timer: Nothing lasts forever. I drain water out for winter storage but eventually something fails. I tried battery operated units by other brands and everyone eventually fails on low battery leaving water on. I am on a well and so that isn't good. The Orbit Mechanical Water Timers work well, have lasted me several years, as in 5 years or so and get heavy use in the summer. So, I keep buying them. Warning: some timers may not open on well water pressure. It happened to me on 5 timers I had purchased and I took them to the store where they had water pressure and got them to pop open. This can happen on any brand. I don't recall if it has happened with Orbic. I'm totally satisfied with a mechanical timer but someone has to operate it. A battery operated water timer works with new batteries installed, if you are going away for say 7 days.

These are great for my garden hose connections - I have drip irrigation but I need to deep soak at times and water trees. I found these very convenient. I can set the timer (not electronics needed) and it turns itself off. YAY I have used these for at least 10 years - one lasts 3 or 4 years and I have them on front and back yards.

Cheap. Same experience as the reviews that experienced timer failures. Agree that they’ll last,maybe, one season.

So these are fairly new and I don't know how much they'll hold up to repeated use or survive the winter or a long hot summers. But for ease of just attaching them to the faucet and being able to choose the amount of time you want with no reading a pamphlet or anything else and having it reliably turn off when you reach the point you selected it's definitely doing all of that. So it is solid plastic and its not going to last like metal but neither will it rust. For the price I felt it was a good deal and if it lasts through one winter and summer that'll be decent; if it lasts two I'll be impressed!

This was recommended on gardeners group I’m with. The star rating was not bad. It arrived quickly. Bad points: 1/ very hard to connect. Unless you have enough thread on the tap it won’t connect. I had to use an extra long connection to get a long enough thread. Using 2 rubber seals doesn’t work. I managed to connect it after a few weeks waiting for all the connections to arrive. 2/ once connected, the flow is weak. Considering this is the cold water mains it was almost half the strength. So it’s double the time to top up the pond. Not for me. I’m glad it works for others. I’m back to using my phone 10 min alarm😊

Einfache mechanische Bewässerungsuhr als gute Alternative zu den überteuerten Gardena-Uhren. Zur Sicherheit habe ich die Uhr "überdacht" , um ein Eindringen von Wasser auszuschließen. Meine alte Gardena - Bewässerungsuhr hat auch deshalb ihren Geist aufgegeben.
