SainSmart 450nm Blue-Violet Light Laser Module Kit for Genmitsu CNC Machine 3018-PROVer

Firstly let's start with the laser, the laser is good and works well, and seems to hold its focus. However the focus knob kind of unwinds itself as if spring mounted, so takes a few times to get focused, but its early days.Setting up can be a little challenging in some cases needing to change the Spindle Speed to 255, $30=255 to work in LightBurn in conjunction with $32=1 which enables the laser module.Furthermore may need to remove your Spindle cable from the PCB.*Update*Tech Maker have offered a refund for the amount of a power supply, which I think is fair. However this was only because of constant messaging. Furthermore the advice they gave was terribly worrying, hence I have left the comments below for other purchasers.*End of Update*The bad - Sold by Tech Maker with blatant disregard to UK law and buyers safety oh and claims to be SainSmart despite being a different registered company.However item received without UK plug when reported by law needs UK plug got told to use the two pin European Plug. UMM no!!!Replied saying the UK doesn't have two pin plugs.Was told to use my own computer cable.So if I can't power on the computer then I cant run the software to run the laser. Still waiting on a reply to that one.

Item is 100% working and does the job, shame its sent with illegal main plugs. Fobbed off by supplier and had to source my own 3 pin uk adapter. UK law says it would come with a UK plug.UPDATE ** After contacting the vendor has paid for the cable. Hopefully their team will be supplying the necessary plug in future. Updated the rating to suit.

The kit comes with everything you need to get it going on your CNC. I am using this on a 3018 CNC. Just a hint if you are running into issue with your projects freezing, look at your CNC power supply.

I have attached this to my 3018 cnc needed to change the wiring red and white was wrong for my machine. Just check your machine before fitting. Should work fine on any 3018.

Easy to use. Great fun for hobby use. Software allows for range of applications. I am enjoying creating little craft projects with it.

Could not turn it off

In addition th the previous review from a different customer, i can confirm that 1 year on, Tech Maker are still selling this product to the UK without a UK 3 pin plug. I have given the Company the chance to reply to my emails, but as yet i have had no response. I have therefore not been able to try the item, and will possibly have to return it. This is a shame as my Sainsmart CNC machine is well made, and i was looking forward to this Laser addition.As well as being extremely frustrating, it is against the Law for products to be sold to the UK without a UK compliant 3 pin plug.Prior to purchase i even emailed Sainsmart direct to check whether this was a legitimate Company i was purchasing from, and was told 'Yes'. This therefore doesnt give Sainsmart a good name either if one of their recognised outlets is not selling in accordance with UK Law.I am happy to alter my review if i get a positive response from Tech Maker, but until then i will leave it as 1 star.UPDATE:. OK Sainsmart actually emailed me and offered me the cost of a replacement UK lead. I have now used the laser on a few occasions and I am very pleased with its performance. Now 4star for laser performance so far, but still tainted by the initial issue.

This is a great little laser and once used to the software and the terminology it proves its self to very versatile. It is different from other large laser cutter / engravers I have used so took a bit of learning.
