it is way better than nothing... but...
This slicer aid is way better than just cutting the bread without any guide/aid, but I don't know if I would have bought this one after using it for a while.I don't like that you have to take out each slice after you slice it in order to slice the next piece. It is a bit difficult to hold the last little bit close enough to the slicing slot/end without cutting your fingers.Sometimes the bread from the bread maker doesn't fit if I try to slice it sitting on the bottom, so I have to turn the loaf on its side in order for it to fit.

Works for now
It is too narrow for the bread I bake at home. I have to force the bread into the guide to be able to cut it. I will be looking for a better option eventually.

Serves purpose well
Could be a bit sturdier

Does the Job on Standard Sized Loaves of Bread
The bread slicer works for standard sized loaves and bagels. I use it to slice my homemade whole wheat bread that I bake in a standard loaf pan. Anything wider than that would not fit into the slicer. It’s a little awkward to keep the bread lined up in the slicer while you’re slicing - an extra hand could help. I’ve been able to make it work and get straight slices, so I’m satisfied with it!

It's good if you only want ONE slice of bread
It's easy enough to use, but let's say you want TWO (or more) slices of bread....you must take the whole loaf out, reposition it and then slice the second slice. A little too much "handling" when you're trying to keep the bread clean. It would be great if you could put in the loaf and it had multiple slots for multiple slices. It does cut evenly so that's good. Also, if your bread height it too high, it will barely fit. I usually proof my yeast for a higher height and it barely fits. If it were a half inch higher that would be better. I paid $12.99 for mine. Today, I see they're asking $20.99 for it. I would definitely say it is NOT worth $20.99. Even $12.99 is pushing it. I would peg its fair value at $6.95.

Product is fine
The product itself was fine. The three stars is because It came used. Nowhere in the item description did it say the item was used.

It works
I was a little apprehensive but this little thing works. There are settings for thickness and one is the same as a slice of store bought bread. I place it on a silicon pad to prevent slipping when slicing the bread. It does accept bread sized from a bread machine or in a 9x5 loaf pan.
