Cutimed Sorbact Dressings are the first wound dressings that irreversibly bind with bacteria in the wound without using a chemical active agent. Cutimed Sorbact dressing fibers are coated with a fatty acid derivative that interacts with the bacterial surface. In this hydrophobic process, the bacteria is attracted to the dressing, become bound to it, and then are removed with each dressing change. This reduces the bacterial load in the wound and promotes the natural healing process. Cutimed Sorbact is ideal for all unclean, colonised, and infected exuding wounds such as post-op, dehisced wounds, traumatic wounds, arterial or diabetic ulcers, pressure sores, and wounds after excision of fistulas and abscesses.
