This is essentially a re-release of Méav's original debut album. There are only a few slight differences, the order in which the songs appear and the omission of the song The Death of Queen Jane, replaced with the song Dantes Prayer. The Death of Queen Jane was the only song I frequently skipped through on the debut CD, Dantes Prayer is a welcomed addition.Ailein Duinn (the Theme from Rob Roy) is sung in traditional Gaelic and is a hauntingly sad melody about a woman who loses her man at sea.I Wish My Love Was A Red, Red Rose is a beautiful love song sung in English, but it's an Irish ballad.Si Do Mhaimeo is a fast and fun song sung in Gaelic. It's about a young man trying to woo a wealthy widow.All the songs on this CD are great. Some are in Gaelic and some in English. I love this CD and listen to it on a weekly, if not daily basis. I think she has a voice so clear and beautiful. I will never tire of it.This is a wonderful CD for anyone who appreciates good, traditional music and an excellent singing voice. Enjoy!

Truly Beautiful!!"MEAV" is one of the most beautiful CDs ever recorded. Méav Ni Mhaolchatha has a soothing, calming, comforting voice like no other singing artist today. The lovely songs on this CD are the very essence of beauty.My favorites are"Dante's Prayer", "I Wish My Love was a Red Red Rose", "One I Love" and "Close Your Eyes" and "I Dreamt I Dwelt in Marble Halls". While all of the songs are beautiful, these are my favorites. I listen to them daily. The songs are so ethereal and relaxing. I never tire of hearing Méav sing to me.Each of these songs shows Méav's sweet soothing quality in song.I highly recommend that you buy this beautiful CD. You will not be sorry...it is lovely.I also recommend that you buyMéav's CD "A CELTIC JOURNEY"...IT IS GORGEOUS!!

Meav's solo performance of material taken from Celtic Woman, where she is an intrical part of a whole, plus some of her own choice in music are only a little less than thegroup efforts of Celtic Woman. Although Celtic Woman was not meant to be a group as such,it is the group efforts that seem more magical. Celtic Woman is a must see show. Meav's choices are of the same cloth as Celtic Woman, and hold up on their own.

This is truly an amazing CD. Meav has such a wonderful voice, like all the Celtic Woman do. The oboist and english horn was performed by David Agnew (Chloe's of Celtic Woman's) father. This CD from "Ailein Duinn" to "Close your Eyes" is very enjoyable. This is a must buy CD!

Voice like a crystal clear bell, and the songs are hauntingly beautiful.

I started hearing one of the songs on the new age station I listen to. I then found out that it is a song from the Rob Roy movie. I then learned the history of Rob Roy, and bought the CD. I am very satisfied. The Song is beautiful.

All the women of Celtic Woman have been phenomenal singers and Meav is no exception. This solo album highlights her talents.

A very good CD. Meav has a beautiful voice and I enjoyed all the songs with my favourites being The first time ever I saw your face, and the title song The calling. I look forward to her next CD.

My wife loved this, and we look forward to more such.

Meav has a great voice and the content of the CDs was excellent.

Well I must say I am a little disappointed with this CD,it's not as good as it could and should have been,this lady just mimics others such as Capercaillie,Altan,Clannad etc but rather badly at times,the problem is it seams she's trying to hard at times to appeal to the mainstream instead of the lovers of folk,if she got rid of the backing singers and pop like beats it would be so much better,but she doesn't come close to these other groups sadly.
