Should've bought decades ago! If you have a variable speed drill that slows down, YOU NEED THIS
I was a little nervous using a drill to wind my strings, I thought it would be too bulky or too fast, just overkill. I was wrong. As long as you have a drill you can easily hold in one hand, and that has a slow variable-speed trigger, THIS THING ROCKS! It makes such quick work of winding new strings up while you hold the string's tension at the peg with your other hand. I used to use a winder/clipper tool (which are still great by the way), but from here forward this is my new go-to. And like those hand winder tools this fits 2 sizes of pegs as well. The process is fantastically quick with a drill, and the speed make sit much easier on your other hand which is holding tension on the string at the peg. And this is far cheaper than buying a dedicated $27+ actual string winding drill. If you own a varying speed trigger drill already, GET THIS, you can't beat it.

SO much faster!
I grabbed a $35 "8v MAX 10nm" screwdriver alongside this, basically intending to keep them together, but also for a few unrelated repairs around the house. The bit ended up being a perfect fit, and works extremely well. I've already massively sped up the time it takes me to change a guitar's strings, and doing a full setup (which requires detuning the strings without removing them) just got a *whole* lot easier, too.D'addario really knocks it out of the park with these accessories. Incredible value for money. They need to start making nut files!

The gadget you need if you have more than one guitar to change strings on
The amount of time this thing saves is incredible. I paired it with a little usb skil drill and keep it in my maintenance bag. Also saves me from knocking stuff off my workbench while trying to spin a winder on the other side of 3R/3L headstocks.

Piece Broke but They are Making It Right
A chunk of mine broke off within five minutes of use but I was able to finish the job. Amazon returns is sending me another one with easy customer service!

Will change your string changing apprehensions
Used with a cheapie low powered rechargeable drill, this makes you want to change your strings. Be sure to go slow, use little pulses so as not to overwind too quickly.

Very high quality and functional item. I've been using it for months on dozens of guitars and it is working very well. I highly recommend this if you're considering it.I suggest taking it easy on the tuners when using power tools. Use a slow setting and support the guitar and tuners when using this.
