The National Gallery: Masterpieces of Painting

I bought this book for a friend who is a carer and cannot manage to visit the National Gallery in person, so this is the next best thing. The reproductions are beautifully printed and the book is a wonderful record to have of one of our greatest art collections.

This is a gorgeous book, with good quality reproductions. The text is kept short, but relevant. If you love the National Gallery collection, you'll love having this on your bookshelf.

Lovely to look at but disappointing after seeing the real thing - the colour production isn't great.

This is simply the most extraordinary art book I have ever seen or purchased. I have many, many art books from the national gallery and from the metropolitan museum of art.This book collects the major pieces from the collection,and the quality the printing. The binding are extraordinary; worth having just for the quality.
