I know there's already a ton of five star reviews, I will just add a few specifics I didn't notice in the many that I read (and address the lower rating reviews as well). This grill DOES take the standard 16.4 ounce tanks you can find anywhere (Coleman etc). A few reviews said it requires a special tank, this was either incorrect or the grill has since been changed to accommodate them. This grill doesn't get hot enough...if you are using it as a portable crematorium. Otherwise, it takes about ten minutes to get to 420+ degrees with lid down. My first time using it I grilled up a nearly two inch thick NY strip. Came out perfect, medium rare. Second time I grilled two of them, they came out perfect. Third time I roasted a two pound tri-tip right on the grill plate (no accessories yet). That came out perfect as well - I took pictures of all three but Amazon won't let me post pics for some reason. Trust me. Perfect. The tri tip was the test, I mostly grill steak and was worried it wouldn't handle a thick cut like that. The trick (I learned quickly), get it hot! Let the grill get to 420-450 with kid closed, sear for two minutes on each side and then kick the heat to half way or 3/4 open on the tri tip, keep an eye on it (finger tardy) for doneness. Easy to get great results with this grill. I am camping/living/traveling out of my Subaru so portability and ease of use was essential. This fits fine on the back seat, snug against the back of the passenger seat. It cools off in five minutes or so enough that I can cook up lunch and load it back into the car by the one I've finished sealing up my food for the day. The only downside is the regulator sits right up against the underside of one of the handles. I can't get my fingers under it. Minor flaw, still easy to carry but seems like it could be improved. Other flaw is the fold out trays are not designed to use as cutting boards. After three uses I have knife scars all acros one side. Not a big deal but would like to see that made if something that you can carve meat on for maximum efficiency (so I don't have to add cutting board to the grill kit). And ideally it would be 20% smaller for my needs.Otherwise it is perfect for mobile cooking, easy to clean, well designed, flawless steaks every time. Get one!

My partner and I live in a motorhome full time and have very little room for gadgets. We wanted a propane grill because dealing with charcoal is just too much for me to bear with my instant gratification issues, but were worried that a smaller option wouldn't have enough oomph. Well! This bad boy gets up to 500* in no time flat and performs like its much bigger cousins with a significantly smaller footprint. Grill a med-rare ribeye to perfection, no problemo. Plenty of room for two people to grill a complete meal with meat and veggies. Four decent size steaks will fit just fine. The grates are nonstick, which is exciting, and very easy to clean. Assembly is almost nonexistent - you snap the ignition switch and knob on and done. The sidetables are surprisingly sturdy and larger than I thought they would be. This is a solid grill, not flimsy at all, and very much comparable to a full size Weber on a smaller scale. We purchased the following accessories, and I recommend all of them: Grill cart - super sturdy Adapter hose - we need BIG propane Vinyl cover - you don't want to ruin your pretty grill Griddle - bacon and eggs, yes please! This is an amazing little grill and I'm kicking my own butt that I didn't buy it sooner. Make sure you get the model with the temp gauge and the side tables - they are absolutely worth it.

I bought this for camping trips when I might have a few more people with me (normally I'm a solo camper). I wanted something that was a proper "grill" that I could throw steaks on or whatever, but something that was still reasonably portable. I've had a larger model in the past that I liked until its regulator stopped working so I looked at their offerings again and saw there was a smaller one and grabbed it. It got its first use this weekend and I loved having it. It ignites easily, heats consistently, it was just a joy to use. It is still relatively "bulky" for a camping trip but worth the trade off. We couldn't light a fire during that trip and I didn't feel like jacking with a charcoal grill. I was a bit overconfident about its "non stick" properties, and honestly just forgot to apply any kind of oil to the grates. Things stuck. I saved cleaning for home and it looks like it'll clean up quickly. I bet that'll go better after more uses and not forgetting at least some kind of oil. The high dome lid of it makes it a bulky item, even this smaller size, but I can see its value if I want to cook something tall in it or even bake in it. I didn't do either, but in that one round I could see its potential for it. I love the electric ignition. Totally unnecessary but it was just very nice not having to seek out a lighter or mess with that. The grates all seemed like they had a consistent temp across them after it warmed up a bit. It heated up fast. At least the grates did. The temp reading in the dome was always a bit low but it was 15F outside and I didn't preheat it for long. I was grilling, not baking. It's built like a freaking tank. Almost forgot, careful on packing it up. Remove the dang bottle. I bought a case for it and I guess when I loaded it up the knob rotated. My vehicle smelled like propane for a while. I can't feel any kind of "stop" in the knob so any bump or rub on it can turn it. Honestly I bet this is in the instructions somewhere. "don't store/transport with a bottle connected, dummy". I don't fault the device for that. Pure user error. Glad I didn't blow myself up. I'm happy to have it in my kit as an option.

I read a copious amount of reviews for grills before purchasing for my husband’s birthday. This grill does NOT disappoint. We live in an apartment in Chicago so I needed a SMALL grill that would hold up well and cook evenly. This one does it all. Pros: 1) Item arrived on time— item won’t be covered by amazon packaging though, so if you order as a gift, make sure to have a large hiding place available. 2) VERY easy to assemble, came in perfect condition— we put it together in about 3 minutes. 3) Because our patio is so small, I didn’t want to get a large propane tank, so I purchased the 16 oz. LP propane tanks from the store (about $7 for two of them)— they connected just fine! No issues with the threading or anything. We’ve now cooked three times at about 350-400 degrees for 20 minutes a session and everything is working great! 4) The igniter has a AAA battery that it comes with and that you can replace over time. SO SMART. My husband loves that as it’s hassle-free and he doesn’t have to worry about replacing the ignition itself. 5) Everything has cooked truly evenly and at the exact temperature we want. Cons: -Only downside, is when paired with the “cart” it is still pretty short. I’m 5’2” and the cart/grill are the perfect size for me... it’s pretty short for my 6’2” spouse. With all that said, the grill is fantastic. I’m so glad I bought this one and I would buy it over and over again. It’s perfect for the price point and portability. It comes with everything save the propane tank. If you get an LP you WON’T need anything else to connect it to the grill. If you get a regular size tank, you’ll need the adapter/extension. But those are fairly cheap and easy to acquire. I bought this, the cart, the propane, a set of grill tools, and a grill brush, and that’s all we needed! It’s perfect for our 9’ x 2.5’ patio.

Greatest little grill , cooks great and is lite weight so very easy to roll around

After reading so many glowing reviews, I purchased the Weber Q1200 to replace another brand of a small, portable gas grill. I wanted something small for our 3-person family that would heat up, maintains its temp, and grill food in a predictable, effective way. The Q1200 exceeded my expectations in most regards, with two issues. I purchased a "like new" in original, damaged packaging to save a few bucks. The box arrived kind of beat up, but other than a few scuffs on the frame of the grill, it was all as expected. The grill had all its parts, manual, and was well wrapped. The grill looks great and it came 95% assembled. You have to put in the hinge pins, screw on the handle, and put the battery into the ignition button before installing it, but that's it as far as an assembly. The directions to do this stuff are pretty self-explanatory, except for how to put the ignition button in. The ignition button should repetitively click as you depress it. It will do so if you've installed the included AA battery correctly and it's making contact. This produces a spark that ignites the gas when it's turned on. Alternatively, you can light the grill with a lighter if the button is not working. The issue I had with the ignition button was that it wouldn't stay locked into place. I didn't want to break it, so I contacted Weber about this issue and they sent me directions for how to install an ignition switch (the whole thing...) and the button. These directions were NOT in the Grill Owner's Guide, which they should be! The directions that were sent in an email after contacting Weber weren't great, but I did see what I needed to check. There are two retaining clips that should click when you put the button in, locking it into place. Other than the ignition switch, putting it together went smoothly. The initial grill use went as expected. I attached a large tank with a propane adapter hose (not included) that I'd used with my other grill. I made sure I had a full tank and followed the directions for the first use. I turned on the gas, then turned the dial on the grill's right side to the highest setting, and held down the ignition button until the grill ignited - which took 1-2 seconds. I closed the lid and preheated the grill for 15 minutes. **There is a notation in the manual that you should expect the grill to run hot for the first 2-3 uses, and I found that to be the case. Per the included recommendations, I cooked 1" thick NY strip steaks for 4 minutes on each side to achieve medium-rare. They came out perfectly! I used tongs to turn them over one time and kept the lid closed to maintain the heat. Excellent results! The steaks were cooked to perfection with great-looking grill marks, and there was no "gas" taste to the food; something I hated about our previous grill. Cleaning up the grill was as with most. The disposable drip pan caught all the drips and the grill plates were coated and needed some soaking before I used a kitchen scrubber (plastic teeth) to clean off the oily residue from cooking the meat. After some effort, the grill plates were clean and replaced into the grill for the next use. NOTE: Disposable drip pans can be used or you can wrap the holder in foil to catch drips. I am pleased with this grill. Its build quality is very good, and while it's a bit expensive, it grills very well and is just the right size for a small family or those who are looking for a grill to take camping or tailgating. 14-16 ounce cylinders work with this grill or you can do what I did and use a propane adapter hose and a larger tank.

We love this grill. We use it for camping and store it in our trailer in the box it came in. I haven't bought a cover for it, so far I have room to store it in the box. The connections for it were a little tricky, maybe that was just us, but after a series of mis-orders for pieces and parts, we went to our local D&B store and they hooked us up with what we needed. It works great, we can grill several burgers at once or do 5 short-ribs at a time. The sides are handy to set tools on as we need them. Love the green!
