I started reading this book with some trepidation. This author is so accomplished, that I was unsure whether or not this would apply to Everyman. As I read through it, though, I realized that this was wonderfully valuable information. How can we possibly not know this stuff? We HAVE to, even if we are just buying or renting a house for ourselves. We will need this intelligence, some time or other, guaranteed. And it’s written exactly for you and me, not just for the moguls and tycoons. The book has lots of checklists, power nuggets, cheat sheets and chapter summaries, which she calls ‘Zipping it up’ 😊 Well and truly comprehensive. This book is a genuine must-have, also for the gents (yes, yes, it’s feminine and pink, but so what? The information is universal, insightful, helpful and lifesaving, in all colors.)It’s astonishing what one needs to consider. No wonder so many of us are in properties (rental or bought) which bring us only headaches, and no pleasure or ROI. I guarantee that there will be many of these questions you have never thought to ask before. Market research and knowing your numbers, uplifting, creating growth and cash flow - these are some of the keys. And it’s what we dislike doing most, right? It takes time, diligence, and some hard work. I found I had to sometimes refer back and forth, as I got to know the concepts and ideas better. This will definitively become my reference book.It would have maybe been better to purchase a hard copy to take with me on the journey to property ownership, without having to worry about looking for relevant sections on the Kindle. I could also have made notes in the book then. Maybe I’m just old-fashioned.What might also be a good idea is to live in a hotel or guest house in the area you are interested in, speak to the people in the street or parks, see what life is like day and night (like excessive noise, light or nightlife).FYI: This is not a gallop through and speed-read kind of book. This is an enabling and knowledge sharing book. A really excellent read.
