DPX Gear Hest Folder Triple Black Knife

This knife is awesome, well almost. The G-10 is the perfect amount of grippy and fills the hand nicely. The bottle opener works like a champ and the "wire strippers" near the thumb stud work perfect as jimping. The lock was sticky until I open and closed the knife about 1,000 times. This wasn't a problem though, after owning several other knives that utilized a titanium lock face against a stainless steel blade I knew to expect this short term inconvenience. The knife came with no blade play in any direction. The niolox blade came super sharp and the flat black DLC coating has held up well. Now for the ALMOST. The only thing I do not like about the blade is the thickness of the blade at the spine. With the knife's cutting edge only being 3.10 inches it can be tough to get the knife into smaller areas and perform certain cuts. After putting it through it's paces I have placed this knife in my rotation as my #2.

I have been looking for a knife with these types of features that didn’t look too bulky or big and when I came across this knife I loved it and everything it offered. I work in roofing and spouting so lots of those features like hex driver and wire strippers were great for a situation where I didn’t have that tool available. If you do it right the wire strippers work great but you have to use the blade first just like a normal stripping tool. The deep carry is perfect and bottle open/wave deployment works great! Bronze washers are smooth and detent is strong! Titanium frame lock is solid with the roto block which on mine is not as easy to switch on by mistake like I have heard people say. Razor sharp and glass breaker is a added bonus since I drive all day and works for emergency situations. I love the thick stock on blade and it’s overall a good looking knife! EDC for sure and I will always use a knife for what a knife is needed for and working with different tools all day, you can’t use a drill where a hammer is needed... if you want hard use tasks then buy an ax or a fixed blade but always know this when buying a folding knife I think it’s ridiculous to review something when you have used it the wrong way or what it’s not designed for! But as a cutting tool it’s great and does its job well! I recommend this!

Beautiful knife and THANK YOU Amazon for the 3.99 next day shipping on Prime! I was able to order this the night before leaving for camping and received it the morning we headed to the Mountains. As for the knife itself, I'm extremely impressed with everything about this knife from the construction quality, the overall aesthetics, and the innovative features. I like this knife so much that I plan on buying another! Although if i was forced to pick one thing about this knife that I wish I could change however it would be the lack if an inner titanium liner on the scale side. I know these G10 scales are tough however I would have appreciated the extra rigidity and toughness of a titanium liner under the scale. Other than that however I cant say enough good things about this knife. I would choose this over a strider any day.
