Amy Winehouse - The Untold Story

Sad and Poignant
Out of the many Amy Winehouse biographies available. Something drew my eye to this one and Iβm a better person for reading it. Thank You Chole and Thank You Amy

RIP AMY
Even at the age of 53 years old I fell in love with Amy's music around 2007. It took a while, at first, for her songs to grow on me......but they did in a very profound way. I realized how she threw her whole being into her music. The book is insightful and reveals a lot about Amy's personality, the heartaches and her addictions.

I love Amy Winehouse
This book is good, although, it isn't like the one her father wrote about. To me, I don't think people should write about others if they didn't know them personally. This author focused more on her negative side than anything else. Sad. She shouldn't be looked at as what people try to portray her as.. only her family truly knows her.

Incredible
A great insight into a remarkably troubled, yet fantastically talented young woman

Nothing to write home about.
The vocabulary was basic, In many cases certain words were used in the wrong context. The spelling and grammatical errors were distracting. There wasnt much to the authors writing style. The whole piece seemed more like the words of other sources tacked together with no real insight from the writer herself. This work felt more like a school essay then anything else. With that said, It was filled with information I didnt know before and many references that I can follow to gain more insight.

Not good
I like biographies. I would not call this a biography in the true sense, but more of a report with a lot of the writer psychoanalyzing the subject. I stopped reading after 2 chapters. VERY disappointing and not well done.

really, really needs proof reading help!
This book could have been a lot better had it been proof read and had it not been so long in printing every single news story ever printed about Amy! It is one thing to quote a few news articles, but this is stupid. And the spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors are just irritating.

"The Untold Story" has already been told, by others, and in a much better way
This was a dreadful piece of work. I stopped reading it after three chapters. Before I go further, I must say I am a huge fan of Amy Winehouse's music. I cried the night I learned of her death; I'd never cried at news of a celebrity's death before and I haven't cried at any celebrity's death since. Anyone seeking depth and insight into the life of this brilliant, young tortured artist should instead watch the incredibly well-done, brutally honest 2015 bio-pic titled simply Amy.In my opinion, all Ms.Govan has done (which will become evident to any discerning reader, especially one who knew details of Amy's life already) is to pull together a "biography" (I use that word loosely) based entirely on articles others have written and news stories. The book appears to have been pulled together in haste by somebody wanting to make a quick buck while Amy's death was still fresh news. There are numerous spelling errors, grammatical errors and clumsy sentences that should make any serious writer cringe.

A few typos, but very interesting
Interesting reading. There are a few typos in here. Even if you think you know the story, this book gives a lot of background. No idea if it's all entirely true, but Amy's tragic downfall is dealt with sensitivity in this book.

Good reading, but as I never knew much of ...
Good reading, but as I never knew much of Amy Whinehouse prior to reading it, felt it got a bit monotonious, and repetitive, but i suppose if its true to what happened this poor girl had a sad & sorry life
