So much better than expected!
I have never reviewed an item before, but thought I had to for this one. I almost didn't buy this treadmill because of the mixed reviews it received - and I never buy anything any more without reading the reviews first. Even though this item was available on an external site I decided to buy from Amazon because I worked as a Customer Service Representative and was confident that if I did experience one of the listed problems that Amazon would make it right. I have to say so far I am impressed. I totally expected the worst when the UPS driver pulled up in front of the house. Going by the reviews some people said their treadmills were barely in a box when they received them. Not only was my box not damaged but it was a sturdy two piece box that allowed you to pick the unit up out of it without tearing the box apart - which I thought was good in the event that something was wrong and I would need to send it back. The box was also reinforced with heavy cardboard strips which were strapped onto the all the corners of the box, and the inside pieces were all encased in syrofoam - so I had no problems whatsoever.Assembly took maybe 20 minutes at the most. No tools were required whatsoever - which was wonderful.I plugged it in, turned it on and was totally amazed at how quiet it was. I had a treadmill years ago, and you had to turn the tv up to the highest volume setting to hear over the noise of the treadmill, but you can hardly tell that this one is on. So far I've only had it on a few minutes, but there was no need to adjust the belt or level the machine. It seems to work perfectly. If something changes I will post an update, but as things stand now I am thrilled with my purchase - and it arrived the day after I ordered it so Way To Go Amazon!

BASIC TREADMILL
Paradigm Fitness Walking Electric TreadmillLooking for a basic treadmill? Check out this one! It is exactly what I was searching for: no frills, level walking area, monitors time, distance, calories & walking speed. I agree that the walking area is short but I am 5'3" which works perfectly for me. I can see that it may be a problem for those with long strides. It weighs 100 pounds which required my nephew's strength to carry into the house. The assembly is fairly easy. The walking area/belt is already assembled. The arms & legs have to be attached (easy). The display unit has to have its electric connections connected (fairly easy). Then attach the display unit to the designated front bar (also fairly easy). You are supposed to apply the enclosed oil to the belt once a year (already done before it ships for the first year). This item is supposed to hold a 350 pound person. I think it would. My only complaint about this treadmill is that it is very difficult to restart after pulling the "kill switch" (which I did test). I followed the directions in the booklet which comes with this and it still took several manual restarts before the treadmill would operate. I repeated this several times to see if it still followed this pattern and it does. However, it is very easy to power the treadmill down or just hit the stop switch to stop it so I cannot see a real need for the kill switch.I let my feet roll of the belt and still had no problems regaining balance ( I am 62 years old & not as agile as once was). Of course, I would never allow children or animals around this without adult supervision while it is running. The electronic display has a button to start and stop the machine as well as a control to increase/decrease the speed & mode, reset, set buttons all which function properly. It also displays the speed, time, etc. On the right arm are buttons to increase/decrease speed. On the left arm are buttons for on/off & mode. It is very easy to hit these buttons and I have shut down the machine many times by accidentally hitting the off/on button. The machine has to run a minimum of 4 minutes before it is turned off or you have to do the manual shut down/restart (a pain in the uh-huh). I have put a wire near this button to keep my hand from hitting the button accidentally.I had a treadmill years ago which was too loud to hear tv nearby. This treadmill is fairly quiet. I have no problems watching tv while walking and can talk on phone with no problemsI needed a level treadmill as I have several problems with a foot. This treadmill is great for my needs. I will watch to see how it works a year from now. So far I love it!

IF THERE WERE NEGATIVE STARS...
So, I bought it after a lot of research. And it's beautiful. But, I turned it on and it counted down for 3 seconds, and then E1 appeared on the screen. I called Paradigm, and the customer service guy said it's the center alignment on the belt that is off. So I messed with it, took the whole machine apart, re-did all the bolts, took the motor apart, checked the wires... re-aligned the belt 4 times, oil'd up that sucker, and turned it back on, and same thing --- E1 ..... I did this a few times, cuz that's what the customer service people told me to do .... Then, I called a 3rd Time, and he said "You got one of the defective treadmills. Send it back. We'll send you a new one." ... So, I packed up and put that sucker back in the box and Amazon sent me a new one ....Got it out of the box, tried to set up the computer and what did I notice? The Red power cord in the computer wasn't attached to anything. It was just hanging out all commando style at the bottom of the box. And it wasn't even a cord I could just clip back together -- it was literally wires exposed, covered in goo, rubber casing split at the bottom of the box. I called the company 3 times a day for 3 days and emailed them, and left messages every time I called... and never got a call back. .... So, I sent that sucker back ... All in all I owned 2 of these treadmills for less than 15 mins because neither one of them worked. Don't do it. For real. Having to pack up that 110lbs sucker is a nightmare. Save the trouble.

Exerpeutic 1010 Fitness Walking Electric Treadmill
This is a great treadmill for two seniors. We wanted a treadmill that wasn't to hard for us to move around and not take up too much space. The way this treadmill fold up really solved the space problem. We both use this every day. It doen't have a long treadmill bed but it is more than enough for my 6 foot husband. We both use this treadmill for walking but it could be used for running a slow pace. Just not what us old folks were looking to do. I would highly recommend this product , you won't be disappointed. Oh ya the price was right....not having to go into the big bucks

Don't Invest Your Money
I bought this in September. Motor already fried. Treadmill no longer functional. Save your money and buy a better one.

Caminadora
