Does The Job if You Meet The Criteria
I received a review unit of the flex arms and want to emphasize that all thoughts expressed by me on this review were not influenced by the company in any way.I have been using the flex arms for about a week now and let me just start off by saying that this device requires some criteria to achieve maximum results. To achieve worthwhile results form this product there needs to be certain criteria that a person meets to get beneficial results with this device. Most EMS devices are somehow targeted towards people that are overweight but let me start of by saying this, overweight persons who have a BMI that is over the range of normal will not necessarily see dramatic results from this unit though it will increase the strength of their arms. Our bodies are made in a way that we have our skin on top, and then layers of adipose tissue( these are fat cells) depending on the person's weight. And then finally are the muscles. So an overweight person will have a large layer of fat cells around their muscles so even if they do get results from this unit, they will not be able to see them as clearly as a person who combines the regimen with diet and a good amount of cardio to their lifestyle. Why? Because the muscles are underneath all that fat. I encourage everyone to lose weight through diet and exercise (primarily cardio) in addition to the use of this unit in order to get maximum results. If you decide to just focus on the unit, you may get results but maximum results are achieved through a good balance of cardiovascular and strength training exercises.Other people who can benefit from this device is someone who exercises regularly but does not necessarily focus on the arms a lot or does not have time to train the arms because they are so preoccupied with targeting other areas of the body. Avid runners and cyclists focus primarily in their endurance and have little time to train the arms and these are the people who I think will benefit most from this device. If you love to do a lot of cardio and are not much into strength training but want to have toned arms, then this unit just might be for you. So now that you have decided whether or not this device will be beneficial for you, let's get on with the review.____________DURABILITY: When I took out the arm straps of this unit, I was a little disappointed. I have used the Flexbelt before the Flexarms and the belt was decently built but I really can't say that with this unit. The arm straps to me felt a little to cheap and I wish that better material could have been used to construct them. This was probably the biggest disappointment that I have had with this device. I am happy to say that the wires on the other hand look well done and they are not overly thin. The controller is well built as well and seemed like it will last a long time. The electrodes are extremely sticky and I haven't had any issues with them. They are just as good as the Flexbelt electrodes.__________BATTERY: The unit comes with a console that is rechargeable and I am happy with the battery life. It took a little more than three hours to charge the unit all the way up and so far I have done about 4 20min sessions and only one of the three bars of the battery were used up. Seems like I can get a little bit more of a weeks worth of sessions in without it dying on me._________EFFECTIVENESS: Now this is what you all have been waiting for, Now let me give a little background of my physique. I am a slender person who runs regularly and lifts light weights 3 times a week. Nothing too heavy, but not too light either. I generally use 5-8 pound weights during my strength training sessions and I also do a lot of kickboxing with weighted gloves. When I first turned on the device, I jerked it up all the way up to level 50 and that gave me extreme contractions. This way the perfect level because it wasn't too easy but not intolerable either. To get effective results from this unit, I suggest to do the session at a level that gives you workout but not to the point where you are dying in pain. The next day I was pretty sore in my arms and I was satisfied with the soreness. That means that it is working but since I was able to go up to level fifty. This unit can be beneficial to both heavy lifters and people aiming to increase their muscle mass. Though lifters generally do get most out of their workout by lifting weights, the device can help change up the routine a bit. There are different programs on the device that have different methods of contractions to keep the routine changing and generate muscle confusion which I believe a lot of lifters who are used to routine exercises can definitely benefit from. I am satisfied with the sessions I have done and will continue to do it throughout the coming months.__________CONCLUSION: I am very happy with the results of the FlexArms now with my first week in with the device. I will continue to update this review a month in and post my thoughts about the results so look out for it. The device so far is great for people who meet the criteria that I have described in this review but my biggest disappointment is the quality of the strap itself and I wish that FlexArms will improved it in future productions.
