Totally Works as Advertised and Then Some ...
I needed to find an interim solution to power up our EV. Found this adapter that fit perfectly into our old-school dryer plug in the garage. Now we are able to plug our new EV into a low-cost (<$500) 220 watt charger that juices our EV to 100% overnight. We scheduled our EV to start charging at 9:00 pm when the PG&E rates are lower. With our solar panels generating most of the electricity, we're saving about $400 in gas money and doing our part to help reduce our carbon footprint. Totally thrilled with this purchase!

Makes Level 2 electric vehicle chargng easy, using the clothes dryer outlet.
This adapter was exactly the simple solution that was needed to allow my Chevy Volt hybrid to charge on 220 volts, without adding additional house wiring. This requires unplugging the dryer before using the charging equipment but this is easy to do in my situation. The car charges up much faster on 220V than on 120V, making the car much more practical to use daily without burning any gasoline. At the electric rates that I pay, running the car on electricity is less expensive that running it on gasoline. The adapter seems to be well made and doesn't get hot during use. It allows the Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment to charge the car without any problems. . The hard part was finding this adapter in the Amazon database - it didn't show up in my general searches for 220V adapters. It only showed up when i specified the exact plug and receptacle cable ends that were needed. But if you are reading this, you either figured that out yourself or had better luck than me with a general search.

Dryer extension cord
I bought a Bosch dryer that comes with a power cord. The cord with the dryer is not a standard dryer power cord, you need a adapter cord to convert the EV plug to standard 3 prong dryer cord. This is the item needed.

Saved me tons of money
I needed an adapter for my tanning bed as I had the amp breakers changed in my breaker box, but didnโt want to have to go through tons of work to re-do the existing 220V plug. And after checking with the electrician, and him making the corrections to the box, this simple cord adapter saved me tons of money and has worked just fine ever since! Definitely would recommend if you need to convert the plugs!

Now I can charge my Volt without hiring an electrician!
I have an old scary 220V outlet for an electric dryer someone must have used in my 1970 built house. I also have a futuristic electric car that I needed to plug into my panel on the other side of my house. I heard mixed reviews on the old 220V outlet not having a dedicated ground. Then I realized the 220 cord used to charge my Volt doesn't either. I figured for $33 it was worth a shot. WORKED! The charger tests the connection and everything is great! Thanks
