Good value, good quality.
I write longform and a lot. Using pencils for screenplays, and other creative writings, and the humble number 2 pencil gets the job done, however I like the darker look of the B lead after using a mechanical pencil one. Purchased the Blackwings, Mitsubishis, and Tombows. All three wrote well, no difference between them. However out of the three the Tombow pencils price point made sense, giving good value for the performance. I could not justify the absurd price of the Blackwing and the same goes for the Mitsubishi, even though those came with a nice case. The one definite plus, aside from price, was the fact that the Blackwing smell was overpowering. It is that old pre-school classroom pencil smell cranked up to high, and it stays on your fingers. Mitsubishi stank less, but it was still there. The Tombow, had a bit of aroma that dissipated in an hour, and no smell on the fingers. So I returned the Mitsubishi, and the overpriced Blackwings, kept the Tombow.

Smooth writing pencils
These pencils are smooth writing and darker than the standard hb pencils. I like to use them with the white hi-polymer erasers. I wish they came presharpened, but that is a small problem. Overall, they are excellent pencils.

Great pencils!
These pencils are great. The wood doesn’t splinter when sharpening them. The lead is buttery soft and lays down smooth lines on the paper that aren’t hard to erase if you use a light hand. They’re a great alternative to some other pencils, and well worth the price. Great pencils!

I wish they had pencils like this when I was in school.
These are awesome pencils. I have several different types of pencils and I keep finding myself grabbing this one. If I have to find a gripe, it's that the coating on the pencil is slick, so if you sweat while writing, or you put lotion on your hands, it will make the pencil a bit slippery... Speaking of which, one word of warning, do not wipe your pencil down with rubbing alcohol to try and remove the lotion, this will remove the gold embossing on the pencil... But of course it leaves the annoying white barcode! I am left handed and this pencil does smudge for me a bit, but then again so do all pencils. There is no smell when this pencil is sharpened. I have sharpened the pencils using little wedge and blade sharpeners (I don't know what their proper name is) and a vintage 1960's wall mount sharpener that was used in classrooms back in the day, and both sharpen the pencil beautifully! I have also sharpened the pencil with a knife and that works as well. The lead is super strong. I have been using this pencil for cardboard craft projects because it lays down a nice dark line and doesn't smudge too much on cardboard, despite my leftyness. I wish they had pencils like this when I was in school. All we got were #2 Dixon or Tricondaroga's and they would always have a bit of grit in the lead so you would feel it grind away until the lead wore down and the grit fell out (or watever)... So far no grit with these and they write so smooth! I just wish there was a bare wood version.

Recomendado.
Amo este lápiz. Es maravilloso dibujar con el. Muy suave, resistente y a pesar de que es 2B llega a matices muy variados desde los claros hasta muy buenos oscuros. No defrauda.

Excellent pencil.
Writes smoothly and darker than other 2B pencils. Excellent pencil for the money. Unlike some pencils that come pre-sharpened, these are unsharpened so the choice of point size is left to the user.

5 Stars - Fantastic Quality
5 stars, fantastic quality. Have used Staedtler for years and found quality decreasing - these are a great alternative.

Estupendos lapiceros
Todo perfecto. Los lápices son excelentes y la presentación con su caja, atractiva. Llegaron bien envueltos para evitar las roturas de las minas de grafito.
